Newfoundland Moose Hunt 2020: A challenge to remember
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I head to the Island of Newfoundland and hunt for moose in Area 4 (West Coast of Newfoundland). My son Andrew and I hold a party licence for either sex. The hunt presents its challenges but pays off to be worth it in the end. Come along with us for the exciting journey!!

Nice. Congratulations on your successful hunting trip. I was unable to make my hunting trip this year but I enjoyed experiencing yours. I feel the same way about hunting Season the catch is a bonus. The real joy is the friends and family on the trip.
Awesome Hunt Chuck, great to spend time with family and friends, stay safe, take care, god bless.
Congratulations on your moose. Sometimes when you have to work for something it's more fulfilling when you succeed. Looking forward to a video of you cooking up some of that moose. Stay safe.

I have no idea how I landed here but love your videos about a year ago but I am glad I have. I have met Lloyd (from Lloyd and Brice) years ago when I needed to pick up a replacement DVD and you remind me so much of how your editing and love of the nature shows in your videos. Good job on filling your tag, I just used the last of my moose sausages a couple weeks ago when the in-laws were here...amazing when done right. Keep up the good work.

Great video Chuck. Being a new subscriber I've been binge watching your videos. I'm from central nfld too. Spent my summers growing up in loon Bay. I go home every year after labor Day for a month or so. It was really warm down there this year. Saw very little sign in the gaff Topsail area. So anyway now I know why your videos are such good homesickness medicine. Love to see you on CBC. Got no WiFi and this cure is killing my data lol . Keep up the good work buddy. Not too often do we get the shot on camera anyway unless someone else is more excited to do that rather than watch the moose, it is aweful (good way) exciting when it happens eh!! Congrats to yas!!

Congratulations on a good hunt! You're right, it's the company and memories that count most. Used to hunt deer with my in-laws in the Uintah basin in Utah. I discovered that I didn't care much for the taste of mule deer after I got my first deer in 1988 (love the whitetail we have here in Iowa). After that I never tried to shoot another. Just enjoyed the hiking, tracking and cameraderie we had. Memories.

good trip bud, some fine eating there, like to have a roast of good ol newfoundland moose, lots of flavour , taste more like beef here but still good just not that brousey flavour of home. i'm still lookin , saw a bull cow and calf coming home in the dark from work tonight, litlle buggers lol. have seen a few now but got to be one or two point spike bull or a bigger one with at least three points on one brow or ten points on one side makes it tough. used to be the first two weeks of the season was any bull now its only one week and its the last week of August so they really arn't even on the move then. hopefully my friends will throw a roast or two my way if i don't get one ha ha, take care Bud
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors

Wow brother. That specific hint you got has to be tough. It’s hard enough here with just a bull only licence. I only apply for either sex these days as I only have a short window of time home to hunt usually. And if was handier I’d supply you with all the brousey moose you’d want lol. Good to hear from you bud and good luck on the hunt👍
Congratulations Chuck! Just curious, what rifle/ caliber did you use?

@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors I agree with you Chuck I use 180 grain round nose almost everything that I hunt I've shot it for years then I use the Winchester PowerPoint ammunition I used to reload and because I don't shoot as much now I found that the Winchester shoots the best out of the rifle that I have and I've set behind the rifle for many years and I can shoot it out to about 500 yards and keep three shots where it'll cover up with a quarter so you know and it holds its energy really well with the bullet that size out to 500 anything 500 or under it'll drop it I used it a lot out west when I lived out there for elk and mule deer and occasional bear if it was getting into the sheep or cows never had a problem getting an animal that was an awesome hunt and has a beautiful bull I would like to be able to get one with a was a bow my self take care friend

This time I had a Remington 30-06 caliber bolt action model 783.
Nice moose got mine in area 4 too had either sex but wanted a bull. Seen one monster but wouldn't stop for a clean shot so I settled for a 4 point bull, seen 17 all together passed on 4 or 5 cows.
