Thank you for a wonderful video featuring beautiful Fogo Island! I'm from Newfoundland, and the beauty of the icebergs still leave me slack-jawed, every time, even though I've been fortunate enough to see them many times in my 60+ years. It's a thrill every time! And I admire and thank you for your work in cleaning up the camping area. That was awesome! I, too, believe that it would be a far better world if we all aspired to leave the places we visit a little better than we found it. I really appreciate you doing that!❤

We are on Fogo Island now. First week.of June....sparce icebergs. We booked 4 nights at the Lions Club Brimestone Park. Worth the 35 bucks. Quiet, hot showers, helpful people. Following Carrie and Dave's footsteps

Faroe Island is beautiful, love watching your videos. That hotel on Faroe created by a female entrepreneur whose family fished cod. When cod fishing dwindled, she invested in the island, built the hotel and she really helped to bring back cod fishing.

What a lovely comment, but I feel like I should correct one thing; it's Fogo Island, not Faroe Islands. (I thought I should correct this, as I wouldn't want anyone to try to search for info on traveling to Faroe Islands if they intended the subject of this video, Fogo Island.) The woman who invested a small fortune in building the fantastic hotel on stilts, the Fogo Island Inn, is Zita Cobb. She established the Shorefast Foundation, which owns and runs the Inn, as well as the three oddly-shaped small residences shown in the video (which are available on seasonal grants for an "artists in residence" program). The Foundation seeks to bring job opportunities to local people who handmade all the furniture, quilts, rugs, etc. used at the Fogo Island Inn (so beautiful!). They also provide tours of the island and the craft producers' workshops, the local history and geography, etc., included in the price of your stay at the Inn! The dining room at the Inn features locally produced or foraged wild fish, game, berries, mushrooms, greens, etc. All profits are re-invested into the Shorefast Foundation, which aims to build a strong, stable economic future for all Fogo Island people, while maintaining its beauty and culture.

Fogo Island is my favourite of all the islands you traveled to on this trip. The trails looked great, and those views of the water and icebergs - WOW!!! It's such a shame people used that one campsite as a dump. Thank you for cleaning it up and making it nice/safe for the next person to use. I'm really enjoying all your videos from this adventure. Your photos and videography are just stunning. Safe travels wherever you are!

Winters are not too bad. I spent the winter of 1976-1977 in Fogo and commuted to the centre of the island to the high school where I was librarian/ history teacher for grade 9/ and French teacher for grade 11. YOu get the odd blizzard. But the temperature is about the temperature of Toronto I'd say, but the winter lasts longer. Montreal is much colder as is Ottawa. Even Kingston where I live is much colder. 54 degrees F. at the end of May? I don't think I noticed that, but I like it cooler anyway.

All right, I’ll just get my van an start traveling again. 😉 I admit being hesitant, since I now sadly travel solo, my motivation has been lacking. Now, I find my sticks and bricks home is more of a liability than a blessing and I need to revisit lots of the places my wife and I traveled and add some new ones too. Thanks for helping to give me the itch again. You guys are amazing. Quick question, how available do you find diesel? I know it’s more expensive but I really like a floor plan I found. Your view is more expansive than about anyone on KZread and that’s why I asked.

People think Newfoundland winters are super cold. It must be the icebergs that makes them think that. Fogo Island is about the same temperature in the winter as Toronto. Much warmer than Montreal, Quebec City or Ottawa although the late fall and winters and early spring last longer.

We have offers daily! Unfortunately it’s usually for crap products that we wouldn’t buy ourselves so we don’t feel right suggesting it to others. Also with a sponsor comes some additional work! We don’t like the fact that the sponsor tells you what to say. You’ll need a video out by such and such date, it has to be approved by the sponsor, filming and negotiating! If it was a product we loved and could stand behind we would be happy to do the work. I think maybe we should just make commercials for our Patreon page😂😂
