Thank you for a wonderful video featuring beautiful Fogo Island! I'm from Newfoundland, and the beauty of the icebergs still leave me slack-jawed, every time, even though I've been fortunate enough to see them many times in my 60+ years. It's a thrill every time! And I admire and thank you for your work in cleaning up the camping area. That was awesome! I, too, believe that it would be a far better world if we all aspired to leave the places we visit a little better than we found it. I really appreciate you doing that!❤
We are on Fogo Island now. First week.of June....sparce icebergs. We booked 4 nights at the Lions Club Brimestone Park. Worth the 35 bucks. Quiet, hot showers, helpful people. Following Carrie and Dave's footsteps
Carrie and Dave, I am overwhelmed by how awesome these Canada videos are. These videos are unlike any I've seen on KZread before. Thank soo much for sharing your travels with us. Again OUTSTANDING work! Can't wait to see what is next.
I don’t know why it makes me so proud to watch you two pitch in and clean up others trash. I don’t even know you but I like you
Faroe Island is beautiful, love watching your videos. That hotel on Faroe created by a female entrepreneur whose family fished cod. When cod fishing dwindled, she invested in the island, built the hotel and she really helped to bring back cod fishing.

What a lovely comment, but I feel like I should correct one thing; it's Fogo Island, not Faroe Islands. (I thought I should correct this, as I wouldn't want anyone to try to search for info on traveling to Faroe Islands if they intended the subject of this video, Fogo Island.) The woman who invested a small fortune in building the fantastic hotel on stilts, the Fogo Island Inn, is Zita Cobb. She established the Shorefast Foundation, which owns and runs the Inn, as well as the three oddly-shaped small residences shown in the video (which are available on seasonal grants for an "artists in residence" program). The Foundation seeks to bring job opportunities to local people who handmade all the furniture, quilts, rugs, etc. used at the Fogo Island Inn (so beautiful!). They also provide tours of the island and the craft producers' workshops, the local history and geography, etc., included in the price of your stay at the Inn! The dining room at the Inn features locally produced or foraged wild fish, game, berries, mushrooms, greens, etc. All profits are re-invested into the Shorefast Foundation, which aims to build a strong, stable economic future for all Fogo Island people, while maintaining its beauty and culture.
Love hiking, so now I will have to add Fogo Island to my NFLD plans. The colours when Dave was filming at the beginning, the beautiful shots of the caribou and icebergs, all stunning. Thanks for sharing ❤
Absolutly gorgeous, amazing, awesome, beautiful, nit enough Woods to say how we appreciate your videos, filming and photos. Thank you for sharing. You guys are the best youtubers.we love you and your advantures.!! Said to my husband next year we go to Newfoundland. Happy trails, be safe and once again thank you. The Canadians from Québec. ❤️
Fogo Island is my favourite of all the islands you traveled to on this trip. The trails looked great, and those views of the water and icebergs - WOW!!! It's such a shame people used that one campsite as a dump. Thank you for cleaning it up and making it nice/safe for the next person to use. I'm really enjoying all your videos from this adventure. Your photos and videography are just stunning. Safe travels wherever you are!
What an experience. Wow. Thank you for taking me along.
There is a huge artist community on Fogo and that is what is in some of the fancy buildings.
I'll bet Roodle and Baxter sleep really well after all that vigorous play 😁. Such beautiful iceberg shots, and great hiking. Thanks guys. Take care. See you next week. 🥰🌿♥️
Reminds me of NW Scotland - the highlands ? BTW, nice job on the camp site cleanup. You guys deserve a Canadian Good Neighbor Award.
8-5-23😍😍BINGING😍😍 Thanks for the reminder to leave camp better than we found it❤ Love the hiking...So interesting...the white line of pack ice😮 Such a good pup, not barking at the bou🤗 what is the sign with the boot print?? Would love an isolated beach shack!! Love the big bird statue😍😍 Great facts.. Sad💔 Love the bright blue on the berg😍 Good times on FOGO Island👍 Loved the footage at the end of the ferry whiping around to dock😮 HAPPY TRAILS DARLINGS🤠💖😎

Our pleasure! 😀😀 We never got tired of finding new iceberg!
Awesome hiking video! Thank you for sharing and have a nice weekend!❤❤
The icebergs are each so unique. Thanks for your explanations and commentary. You are both great speakers.
Thank you for taking me along. I now have dreams of going. I so enjoy your videos.
So beautiful! Glad you're enjoying the Island :)
That last picture of the iceberg looked like a sphinx!
Time for tea and advanture’s video. This one is amazing.
Headed out for another adventure this weekend, reworked my van, still getting everything organized and ready for full time Camper Vanning next spring. Still adding on, just ordered solar panels, a topper basket and awning.

Great traveling with you, as always.
That is a breathtaking view! I can't wait to see more videos like these!
WOW soo beautiful! You must have felt like crying sometime with the beauty of this place. I am sure the beauty and feeling of the place could not fully be seen on video. Thanks for all your hard work. You will have so many wonderful memories in your old age. Love Roodle
Loved, loved, loved this video. Really enjoyed all the hikes and your pictures at the end of the rustic buildings and icebergs were beautiful.
We stayed at the Fogo Island Inn a couple of years after it opened and before the prices went up....fabulous and the local people were our hosts for a few excursions both on and off the water.
I don't have the words to tell you both how very much I enjoy your videos. Thank you so very much for the hard work and dedication - 🙏✌️🌎💞
Beautiful sights thankyou for the video safe trip guys
Amazing experience and I loved your still shots..great way to start my day..thanks
Nice video. Gorgeous scenery!! Safe travels!!!
Hi guys. By now, you must know that those strange looking buildings are part of the Fogo Island In, international known self contained hotel… very expensive, but wow! And icebergs galore! And caribous! Love it! Great job on the narration!
That beautiful blue iceberg ❤
Looks like you guys enjoyed your time on Fogo. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Sadly, people can be pigs! Awesome camp cleanup. 👍 Just an awesome video, all around. Thank you!! 😎🇨🇦🌊🐾💫⭐
What a great video. Thanks!
Beautiful video guys. I won’t say being that cold looks appealing, but you make it look fun

We are always looking for mushrooms 🍄 the best we’ve seen so far was in Colorado
Breath taking!!!! Ice Berg
LOL!!! I stayed at that campsite last night. Your fireplace is still doing well, but there is more trash inside it😢 I loved that hike by camp also. I wish I seen that other trail you were on. I really enjoyed your video ❤

That is really cool that you stayed there! I don’t know why people treat fire pits like trash cans🤷♀️
Interesting place.
Beautiful video. Thanks. Have fun.
Those icebergs!
you guys are showing off NewFoundland so epicly. My favorite spot I found was over the hill in Dilldo Nfld. Had miles of beach front to myself

The outports do seem to be very deserted.
Another great video. Would love to know the story on some of those houses. Would be fun to have a webcam feed and see what winter storms are like. Great job again!!

Winters are not too bad. I spent the winter of 1976-1977 in Fogo and commuted to the centre of the island to the high school where I was librarian/ history teacher for grade 9/ and French teacher for grade 11. YOu get the odd blizzard. But the temperature is about the temperature of Toronto I'd say, but the winter lasts longer. Montreal is much colder as is Ottawa. Even Kingston where I live is much colder. 54 degrees F. at the end of May? I don't think I noticed that, but I like it cooler anyway.
You are so right, Carrie! Your video is epic and so is the island. Thank you for taking us all there this morning.
Wow, the hikes ❤
Beautiful!!

Great video guys, I travel to Fogo many times in my career for work and was responsible for Telecommunications there for years so I got that cell ready for you lol. Subscribed to your channel looking forward to checking out your other videos
Beautiful. Stephanie M🎉❤
The AdVANture continues! It great to see you having such an amazing trip. Thanks again for sharing it with us!
Another awesome video! Loved it!
AhhhhhMazing‼️😁👏🏼
My wife and I both feel that your videos this year have jumped forward in quality. Not that there was a problem previously, nothing like that. Just that you videos are even more professional. The still photos, the video and music selection are great. Thanks for sharing. Glad you are enjoying Canada.
All right, I’ll just get my van an start traveling again. 😉 I admit being hesitant, since I now sadly travel solo, my motivation has been lacking. Now, I find my sticks and bricks home is more of a liability than a blessing and I need to revisit lots of the places my wife and I traveled and add some new ones too. Thanks for helping to give me the itch again. You guys are amazing. Quick question, how available do you find diesel? I know it’s more expensive but I really like a floor plan I found. Your view is more expansive than about anyone on KZread and that’s why I asked.

Having read your comment, I wanted to offer my condolences to you on the loss of your wife. No doubt, you were fortunate to spend many adventures with her, and you miss her dearly. I do hope you are able to enjoy traveling again, and that the memories bring you peace and joy. Perhaps, one day, you will have an opportunity to visit our beautiful province of Newfoundland and Labrador. You would be warmly welcomed.
Cool! We haven’t gotten to take the love hut on a ferry yet, but it’s on the list. We tried in Louisiana, but it was closed due to storm damage
What a brilliant video, only you know how much time and effort you put into this editing but you can see the effort in each scene. I just love this brilliant video my friend!

Thank you for the kind words! And thank you for recognizing the time and effort we put into each video. I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as we did!!
A beautiful place to visit, but I think the winter's would be killers. You are living the life ❤.

People think Newfoundland winters are super cold. It must be the icebergs that makes them think that. Fogo Island is about the same temperature in the winter as Toronto. Much warmer than Montreal, Quebec City or Ottawa although the late fall and winters and early spring last longer.
Thanks!
Great video thank you for your hard work love your videos, I was wondering why don’t you guys get sponsors.
@oneadVANtureatatime
Жыл бұрын
We have offers daily! Unfortunately it’s usually for crap products that we wouldn’t buy ourselves so we don’t feel right suggesting it to others. Also with a sponsor comes some additional work! We don’t like the fact that the sponsor tells you what to say. You’ll need a video out by such and such date, it has to be approved by the sponsor, filming and negotiating! If it was a product we loved and could stand behind we would be happy to do the work. I think maybe we should just make commercials for our Patreon page😂😂
Fabulous as always ❤
Wait a minute... at around 21 minutes, Carrie is with Roodle and then she says "they sent out a searching party". And here comes Dave and Roodle!! I knew it, there are two Roodles!! No wonder there so many pictures of Roodle. Do I get a prize?? Just kidding. Thanks for the great videos.

Question - Which Columbia coat does Dave have on at the end of the video. I really enjoy your travels!
This was a great video to watch. Thanks so much. What's with those "modern" structures in desolate (roadless) settings ??? Anyone?

Large artist community there. One lady is credited with bringing it there as a lot of the income was from fishing at one point, that ended up being overfished if I recall. Story was on 60 Minutes.

To answer your question and expand on the answer provided here by Jacqueline Chap, the woman who invested a small fortune in building the fantastic hotel on stilts, the Fogo Island Inn, is Zita Cobb. Congratulations in advance! We are headed back to the west coast. We haven’t been home in two years and it’s time for some west coast for the next year or so.
What date was the beginning ferry ride filmed?
Too bad you didn't get the chance to stay at the RV park/Lions campground at Brimstone Head in Fogo village. The climb up to the top of Brimstone Head and the views from there are phenomenal. It's also one of the four corners of the earth according to the flat earth society. Great spot to visit

The Rv park wasn’t open yet but we did make it to the top is brimstone Head. I wasn’t able to fit that in this video but our patrons will get a small extra video clip over on Patreon. It was SO WINDY the day we hiked it.

@@oneadVANtureatatime if you're still in Newfoundland and haven't gone to view Puffins, I highly recommend a stop in Elliston at the free (donation) viewing location. You'll not get any closer anywhere else on the island
There’s a reason why you picked up so many nails out of the fire pit, collecting and burning dead trees on an island isn’t environmentally friendly it’s the only way the soil regenerates from rotting trees.
Caribou? on Fogo? What are you guys smoking?
@oneadVANtureatatime
4 ай бұрын
+@christophertaylor3001 we’ve been there in person, seen them with my own eyes without smoking anything!!! They are there!!! I LOVED WATCHING THEM!! Caribou were placed on the Island in the mid-twentieth century and continue to roam and thrive. You'll spot them all over the Island munching on caribou moss and causing the closest thing Fogo Island has to a “traffic jam” when crossing the road. fogoislandinn.ca/seven-seasons/wildlife/
You match the video and music masterfully. You two are inspirational, the way you find beauty and uniqueness in all kinds of places. Travel mercies. ✌️❤️🚐
