What about the Proone water filter?

Under sink but what if the part inside of the faucet is contaminated? Then the filtered water will still go through the dirty/rusty part and become contaminated before it reach the final point of destination which is your cup?

If your plumbing is contaminated you can and should sanitize on a regular basis. Most RO systems have their own spigot and can be sanitized along with the rest of the unit.

Rookie question : I see some of the gravity systems plug-in. Are those the ones that give you cold water ? I guess drinking lukewarm water is a small price to pay, for the health benefits you get.

Which gravity system do you see plugin? Kind of the point of gravity systems is they don’t require electricity and work with only gravity.

I saw the plug at 11:50 on the Zen. I read your entire review again, and now understand that the Zen is not plugged in. Thank you. I'm looking at bypassing my GE refrigerator filter due to the expensive "chip filters". Plus, I have no idea how good the GE filter is. I've also been using a Brita for years - no problem putting pitchers in the refer. Good stuff here. I'm looking at the Aquathru. Is the alkaline option worth it ? Thumbs up. Subscribed.

@weekendhero7411 Gotchya! The AquTrue is a a great system, we have lab tested it and threw everything we could at it and it performed exceptionally well. I am personally not a big fan of the demineralization filters bc we only get about 3% of our daily mineral intake from water, the rest from food and a balanced diet. You also don’t know 100% what is actually in the remineralization filters (where it’s from, the quality, the materials). cold water is actually not good for us either as it lowers the iron count . room temp is always best 👍🏾

Great point! Although not typically marketed as such, activated carbon filters and reverse osmosis have both been shown by the EPA to be effective at glyphosate removal. More testing at a residential level would be great! It's unfortunate there are hundreds of glyphosates out there.

is berkey worth it even with all the contravercy? I cant decide.

Yes, it takes out harmful carcinogens, chemicals, and minerals (like calcium, magnesium, potassium, etc). The thing is that you get essentially all of your minerals from a healthy diet and food. You could drink a bathtub of tap water and it wouldn’t move the needle for daily mineral intake. So if you have a mineral deficiency or just want more mineral intake, it’s advisable to use supplements or mineral rich foods. But the RO system is the best home water treatment solution that is going to remove the broadest spectrum of harmful contaminants.
