Trippier is just a cut above all the defenders we’ve had in the past 5 years, he has so much quality which stands out like a sore thumb in this team

5 years?! You can count the clubs Trippier wouldn't start for on one hand. We haven't had a player like that since Shearer. ASM might be more influential on our scorelines and Bruno might be a more exciting prospect, but in terms of simply being one of the best in his position Trippier is the stand-out player in our squad.

Until he came along our passing looked lacklustre and with no purpose. But he is brilliant his every pass every move every thing about him reeks of urgency and class. Top player

I think it might be a reflection of how much poor football we have had to watch for so many years now that watching a team with hunger , more desire to get forward & some actual top quality that its a relief we look to have a chance of staying up & prospect of good football to watch in the future.

@@PhilHaqeeqa ASM is super talented, but also very inconsistent. With Tripps you can guarantee for him to put a minimum of a 7/10 performance each game. Thats not to say that ASM wont reach that level. But as of right now... Tripps is the man

Lascelles battled back like a champ. Trippier is superb. Saint Maximin is unbelievable. Pickford has little arms.

How many times do i have to tell, that Trippier's goal was took my breath away, i played the scene over and over again until my tears slip away from the corner of my eyes. After more than a decade, i feel the moment of joy of winning the match, this is a truly genuine joy of happiness. I really hope that you are in England squad again for the World Cup. Impressed with Howe so far. Fitness levels are sky high compared to the Bruce days, he's given the team confidence not to give up after a goal down, we didn't park the bus to play for a point after equalising and didn't even stop fighting after going 2-1 and 3-1 up. Improvements in the likes of Joelinton (though work to be done) to get more out of him in a new role. All round great work so far, let's keep the wins coming and stay up. HWTL

Mad props to the crowd for giving Prickford stick - he was rattled and shat the bed! Smashed into his own players, spliced his kicks, couldn't organise his defence. Only good thing he managed was to pick the ball out of the net!

Lascelles and Holgate had good synergy even after being on opposing teams

Trippier really showing he was worth the transfer already. Having Wood in the centre also seems to work really well with giving ASM room on the outside to take defenders on 1v1 which is where he does his magic. Really smart signings

Happy for NewCastle fans. They have suffered a lot and yet continued to support. Time to party is not far.
