Salty Arsenal fan here! Mad at the loss, but not the manner of it. Havertz should've been sent off in my opinion. We (Gunners) can complain about the goal all we want but fact of the matter is we did not provide anything resembling a response. We clawed our way back at Stamford Bridge, we did no such thing here. Fair play to you Newcastle ✌
@toonman1892
7 ай бұрын
@ArsenalGunners89 That's very fair, I thought it was a great game, maybe not the best quality as we were cancelling each other out but the commitment from both sides was immense. Arsenal fought hard. didn't know they had that in them to be honest. I like many have looked at the goal a hundred times and still can't find a reason to disallow it but it could easily have due to opinion. The "foul", seems to me Gabriel did what many do, he went down before being touched excepting it where if he'd stood his ground, he'd probably have done much better. I'm delighted with the win, still upset with the Liverpool result because we threw that one away, no complaints about anything else this season. I'm still at the stage of being happy we are competing near the top compared to where we were 2 years ago, today showed it has very little to do with money (just look at what the others have spent in comparison), and more about coaching, and team spirit.
@jtaylor8606
7 ай бұрын
Spot on. Arteta's little melt down reminds me of Steve Bruce tbh - full of excuses for failing, and no personal responsibility - which becomes tiresome very quickly as a fan. From my view, despite their possession and silky play, Arsenal didn't look a threat at any point in the game, with Newcastle creating far more chances. And the goal ultimately came about because the Arsenal defence went to sleep/made a mistake and didn't chase that loose ball that Willock rescued. If they'd done that, then no assist and no goal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@gairmcculloch67
7 ай бұрын
I think if that goal doesn't go in we get a much better game for the last 30 or so minutes rather than Newcastle just sitting back with so many behind the ball. Credit to their defense though, they were very physical but we also didn't attack well. Hard to break down a team like them, especially without enough creativity on the pitch. Even contest though and a really exciting game, would of been great to see a team score an undisputable goal or see the game finish 0-0 as that would of been a fair result. Havetz challenge is 100% not a red card, don't understand how that isn't obvious. You are allowed to leave your feet, the trailing leg makes contact and there is contact but nothing else needs to come from that. Bruno should of been sent off, red or 2 yellows. You can't hit someone on the head like that and he did it 3 times.

@@mydancinglife730 Thanks mate, the game was super scrappy and in honest opinion, refs could've swung it either way, so draw would've been totally fair. Potential red for Havertz (either straight, or getting a second yellow for another reckless studs up tackle later), but also potential red for Bruno, even before he got his yellow. Goal had all kinds of angles, but after VAR checked the lines, the only doubt in my mind was the possible shove by Joelington - definitely certain refs would've given it. Still, your team absolutely deserves to be challenging for the title and if we're not up there with you come the end, I'd be glad you took it over City and Spurs.

I’m very suspicious of these disputed VAR decisions. With current technology there’s no need for a referee to make the decision. Tennis has had hawkeye for years. With the Saudis backing Newcastle and UAE backing Man City there’s massive money in betting on Premier League outcomes. Don’t tell me that doesn’t get to the referees in the VAR room. Too many really bad decisions now for it to be a coincidence.
