Did you know foals are born with "foal slippers"? The hooves can be quite sharp in the womb, so they have a soft, rubbery capsule on them so they don't hurt mama during pregnancy and birth. The slippers dry up and fall off shortly after birth. You can see Otis's foal slippers on as he hasn't yet stood up.
