Newark Castle Walking tour | Nottinghamshire | King John died here | 4k | Drone footage

Please join us on a #walkingtour of the remains of Newark Castle in Nottinghamshire as we learn the history. The largest gateway of any castle in England graces this largely 12th century fortress. The castle once belonged to King John it was here that he dies in 1215 after his infamous "surfeit of peaches". The town of Newark grew up around an important crossing of the River Trent where the Fosse Way & the Great North Road Converge.

So happy someone pointed out you had another channel Amanda and Chris. I was wondering in you had given the historical tours up or were taking a break. We loved them. Now we can get our fix here! Stunning castle tour. Impressive gatehouse! Remarkably well preserved for it's age and we enjoyed hearing some of it's history. Loved seeing what remains and the views from above. Thanks for the tour.
