Running it in dehumidify may help the regular AC units run more efficiently. It made a huge difference in my 36’ travel trailer base camp with just one front AC unit and a stand alone dehumidifier unit. 🙌🏼

Yes I run mine with a dehumidifier for 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening... and it's like walking in a deep freezer

AC, now your talking my language, you know how hot its been here? Sheeeet, I say its so hot I sweat so much, I go through 3 sets of clothes in one day, that wash machine is getting a workout, let me tell you, and I am literally sweating out my weight loss! The portable units offer a level of convenience over standard window units I think. However, dealing with the condensation runoff is going to be the strongest negative, I'd recommend installing the hose to alleviate that. Looks like that unit was working out nicely! And what a lovely living space, I absolutely love the rustic/warm nature of the darker wood tones.

You need to hook up both hoses to the window to prevent negative pressure. With only the exhaust hose connected, you will be sucking out cool air from the room and blowing it outside. Not efficient setup.

I'm not sure why people are confused about these air conditioners. They operate in the exact same manner as a window air conditioner. The air that is drawn into the air conditioner that is to be cooled does so on the back side of the unit. If you watch the video you will see I point out the filter that is where the warm (in room) air is pulled in to the unit. Then it is converted into conditioned dry air and discharged out the vent in the front top as the cooled product. The exhaust hose on the back is nothing more than the Heat being discharged that is generated by the motor during the process of conditioning the air.
