Very interesting that you say that - As a child growing up in india, I heard this one term a lot in the news. Exact term went like this - " Xyz ne kaha hai ke Kashmir bharat ka abhin ang hai or Kashmir is integral part of india ( if it was English DD news)" .. nobody ever explained why and I always used to wonder if they will ever explain why they have to clarify it repeatedly and why they actually believed it to be true.. but nobody ever did .. finally in my 20's I decided to check with google baba - and results were kind of inconclusive and hazy ... till date - not sure what makes so many Indians say this .. is it just that one keep hearing something repeatedly and just assumes it is to be true ( just to be clear - I don't mean that Kashmir is not integral part of india .. I am just saying - it is hard to be sure and bit inconclusive .. for the sake of future - it is better to move on and call LOC as permanent border rather than keeping this issue for sake for politics

This video was great! My daddy was stationed in India during WWII, as a member of the Army Air Corps (which grew up to be the Air Force). Of course that was over 75 years ago. He was primarily in Gujarhat (forgive the spelling ). The line about mixed languages matched what daddy described. He said that he never understood what anyone was saying..

India is basically a continent with many countries in one. Communities, cultures, cuisines change after every 100 mile. There are 28 states a handful of Union Territories and each state will offer you atleast 2-3 cuisines. So I hope you get the picture of how diverse India actually is. Also there is no such thing as an Indian cuisine but a list of cuisines from India. And there is no such thing as curry spice in India. Curry basically translates to a sauce or gravy cooked with different spices and which spices are cooked together, defines the curry. Barbequed and fried items are not curries unless a sauce or gravy is added to the dish. The north indian curries are dairy based whereas the south indian curries are coconut based. You will also find plenty of cuisines to try from various regions in India. When you order Indian food ask the restaurant folks which cuisine does the dish you ordered belong to or which state. Or you could just cook it yourself too. The more popular cuisines outside India are - Mughlai cuisine - (North Indian) dishes eg Mughlai chicken, Changezi, Nihari, Mughlai Paratha, Haleem, Keema, Pulao, Kadai, Pasanda, Rogan Gosh, Mughlai biryani, etc Punjabi cuisine - (North Indian) eg Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, Sarson ka Saag, Rajma chawal, Palak Paneer, Amritsi Kulcha, Chole Bhature, Chana Masala, Dal Makhani, Naan, Bhatura etc Tamil cuisine - (South Indian) eg Dosa, Idli, Uttapam, Vada, Chettinad Chicken, Chicken 65, Sambar, Pongal, Payasam, Upma, Ambur Biryani etc Malyalee/Kerela cuisine - (South Indian) eg Prawns in coconut gravy, karimeen fish, Beef Masala fry, Puttu, Appam, Idiyappam, Fish Molee, Thalassery Biryani, Banana chips etc Awadhi cuisine - (North Indian) eg Musallam, do Pyaaza, Korma, Galouti Kebabs, Malai kofta, Rumali roti, Chaat, Aloo gobhi, Gulab Jamun, Badami Chicken, Lucknowi biryani etc Bengali cuisine- (East Indian) eg Fish in Mustard gravy, Mutton Kosha and Chaap, Mishti Doi, Prawn Malaikari, Bhapa Ilish, Muri Ghonto,Aloo Poshto, Luchi, sandesh, rasogulla, Jhal Muri, Kolkata Biryani etc Goanese cuisine- (West Indian) eg Vindaloo, Xacuti, Cafreal, Sorpotel, Bebinca, Dangar, etc Gujrati cuisine - (West Indian) eg Dhokla, Khandhvi, Khakra, Shrikhand, Kadhi, Thepla, etc Marathi cuisine - (West Indian) eg Pav Bhaji, Misal Pav, Vada Pav, Chicken Kolhapuri, Batata Vada, Modak, Bhakarvadi, etc Andhra cuisine (South Indian) - Pulihora, Pootharerkulu, Ulava Chaaru Indo-chinese - Chowmein, momos, manchurian chicken/pork, sweet & sour pork, chilly chicken/pork, springrolls, Szechwan, etc If you find any other cuisine other than these, then it's an added bonus. Dishes from my community are exotic and you won't find them in Indian cities, except places which are within 100miles from where I am. That is again how diverse India is. Indian food is definitely spicy, as in a whole gamut of spices are used as ingredients while preparing the dishes, hence it's very flavorful. But that does not mean every dish packs in heat. Only dishes which have a significant amount of chilly peppers will be hot. Infact some dishes are even on the sweeter side because of the use of dairy products and dried fruits. A typical Indian meal is eaten in a thali. A thali refers to the plate that a thali meal may be served on. The idea behind a thali is to offer all the 6 different flavours of sweet, salt, bitter, sour, astringent and spicy on one single plate. According to Indian food custom, a proper meal should be a perfect balance of all these six flavours. So a typical normal Indian thali would consist of the following- 1. Rice 2. Flat bread 3. Lentil soup (dal) 4. Appetizer ( papad/Papadum) 5. Fried vegetable 6. Vegetable cooked in a gravy sauce 7. Fresh salad vegetable 8. Choice of Meat (chicken/mutton/fish) 9. Curd 10. Pickles / chutneys 11. Sweet dish Dishes served in a thali vary from region to region and cuisine to cuisine in the Indian subcontinent and are usually served in small bowls, called katori in India. These katoris are placed along the edge of the round tray, the actual thali. Sometimes a steel tray with multiple compartments is also used. The number of dish items may increase if you are inviting a guest home. But in some restaurants, people go overboard with the thali concept, where, each thali consist of 40-50 dishes. You can search for- Dara Singh thali Bahubali thali Big Boss Thali Ravan Thali to get an idea of what I mean. Here are some Thalis from different states - food-ndtv-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/food.ndtv.com/food-drinks/13-grand-indian-thalis-you-need-to-try-at-least-once-in-your-life-1758079?amp_js_v=a6&_gsa=1&=1&akamai-rum=off#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Ffood.ndtv.com%2Ffood-drinks%2F13-grand-indian-thalis-you-need-to-try-at-least-once-in-your-life-1758079 The most important thing about Thalis is their unlimited refills concept. Here are some tips on eating Indian food - 1. Start off with starters like a kebab or tandoori platter usually served with tamarind sauce, mint or yoghurt sauce. 2. Next we then have the flat bread (roti, chapati, naan, puri, paratha, kulcha, bhatura) www-indiafoodnetwork-in.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.indiafoodnetwork.in/amp/food-stories/the-ultimate-guide-to-the-breads-of-india/?amp_js_v=a6&_gsa=1 with some of the side dishes, either vegetarian or non vegetarian curry aka gravy aka sauce. You tear the bread and scoop out the meat along with sauce/gravy/curry. The warmer the bread the more the flavors and less chewy. 3. Then we take the rice into the plate and have it with the lentils or veg/meat sauce/gravy/curry and clean it all up. The hotter the rice, the more chance your mouth will get burnt. And If you having the biryani rice, you take it with a salan gravy and a raita based yoghurt dip. And it's a complete meal on its own. There are 20+ varieties of biryanis depending on which community is cooking it and the region from where it's from. And many will argue that vegetable Biryani is not a biryani. www.whatsuplife.in/different-variety-types-biryani-india 4. Finally finish off with a sweet desert either gulab jamun, rasogulla, kheer, payasam, barfi, sandesh etc We don't scoop out the bread and rice and the sauces/gravy/ curries together at the same time. Also many people eat samosas in their meals on KZread but then Samosas are usually eaten as a snack during tea time. Also some people have just the bread or rice along with the side dishes as eating both bread and rice at the same time can be too heavy in a single meal. If I may suggest , perhaps if you do want to try out food from India, you can choose, if possible, one cuisine, say Punjabi or Mughlai, grab 3-4 items from that cuisines and have it. Then try another cuisine for the next round. If you are eating with your hands, especially rice, you pour the curry sauce on the rice then use your fingers (not the palm) to roll the rice to somthing like a ball, then take the thumb behind the rice ball, take your hand close to your mouth, and then push the rice into your mouth with your thumb. Would love to see you try out another Indian meal.😊

Hello, maybe you can answer my question. I live in the Upper Midwest in the USA, and there's an Indian place that my friend and I order from about once a month because it's rather expensive to eat out in the US these days, even for fast food. Now, the only thing worth the money is Chinese and Indian food because I personally can get 2-3 meals out of one order, which still comes out to about $5-$9 per meal, which is still a lot but I don't eat out much. We always get Chicken Shahjahani. It's a cream based dish with chicken (I think it's tandoori thigh meat chicken) with many spices, mushrooms, cashews and peas, and garlic naan. We love it! I've only had Indian food from two places. The one I just mentioned, and 17 years ago I was in San Francisco and friends took my out for to my first Indian restaurant. I've read that the dish is named after a person, but I have no idea where it's from. Would you know? If I had to make a guess based off of past reading, I'd say Rajasthan or Maharashtra province? Any more info you can give, I would love to know. I suppose I could just search more, or ask people in the restaurant.

It's a lot like other continents to be fair. North American, and even just inside the US, is also very diverse and different, as is Europe and Asia. The US in the Pacific NW has a lot more in common with Canada than they do the SE of the US, which is different that the NE. That said, every peoples and countries in the world needs to work together so we are not our own undoing.

And another surprising facts 1) India has long history of never being the first to attack or wage war with any countries. So all the time India only retaliate against attacking countries 2) India is one of those countries who don't believe in concept of increasing territorial borders but other countries tend to snatch Indian borders like Pakistan and China

We Indians dont know even 5 percent of India.
I am an Indian and I loved the brief explanation of our country although it dosent even showed 5% of india I would wish to give a fact to the family for amazing them hear According to the data for 2020, Indian women currently own 21733 tonnes of gold. At the same time, 197576 tonnes of gold has been extracted from the mines in the world. That is, out of every 100 tonnes of gold, 11 tonnes are with Indian women. And also it dosent include gold used by children and men according to me must add 5000 tons more used totally by indian population and also hear this It is estimated that indian Hindu temples have a reserve of 20,000 tons - many times the annual global supply of 4,776 tons. An audit of Kerala's Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in 2011 found that the historic structure had $20 billion worth of gold ornaments in its vaults There are 7 cheambers on the padmanabha temple and this much gold and more that 15 billion worth of other precious items like stones and others were also found just by opening some of the cheambers I think 5 or 4 cheambers are opened and we also know that mythologies says there is more than double of what we found is kept in un known cheambers cheambers And this much gold is only included of Hindu temples there is various other temples like the Buddhist and siks temples like the golden temple we saw on viedio and the total estimation is still unknown and it's a common knowledge for people in india we know more than 50% of worlds gold is in india and the world's most precious gem kohinoor which cost more than 10 billion dollar in Britain's queens crown was originated in india many various other precious gems too 😀 And like the golden temple on video various other temples made of golden bricks are there Must say that the golden temple we saw in video is not completely made of golden bricks most of the part is covered by golden sheet out and in with normal wall inside
Very sweet family good bless you and your family

I absolutely love you’re videos! As a side note, I was watching a movie on Netflix and swore Nadine was in the movie!!! As it was based in New Zealand I thought I learned something new about my favorite KZread family. The actress was actually Claire Chitham. 😂 Keep up the good work. Sending best wishes from Texas!

Daughter is a replica of Mum, and Son of Dad. Love the bond. Goodwishes.
Listening to the gentleman from India speak his native language and English mixed puts me to mind of when my girlfriend speaks Filipino. It's a mix of Tagalog and English and will sometimes include other languages spoken in the Philippines. I guess the British have left a sour spot in the national memory of a lot of places.

It is called code switching. I speak Tamil but grew up in Mumbai. I would code switch Hindi, English, Marathi into Tamil depending on my audience. Some languages are able to emphasize more on specific emotions.

For us Indians, speaking Hinglish, Marglish, Tamglish, etc. is NOT a sour leftover from the British Raj. It's just the way we speak and we are proud to have made a foreign language (English) our own..Indian English is unique and only Indians understand it 😂

Also, the dude was just acting (and I'm not even sure if he was Indian).. he didn't actually speak Hindi + English (Hinglish). An example of Hinglish would be "don't pakao me yaar" (don't annoy me, mate)
After Atlanta finishes cooking something from each US state, maybe she could go on a world journey - each Canadian territory, each India state, etc.

Amazing! I knew India was big, and the second most populous country on earth with over a billion people…but I had no idea they had about as many cattle as the entire population of the US!🤯 …Gives me a new perspective on the enormity of their population there…wow!

Kia Ora Thank you for Great Video about our Beloved India, I would like to add a Fact That all of the English, Scotish and Irish living in NZ are From British India, During the year near 1900s All of above and with some Sikh Soldiers, moved to NZ from India, and started colony in NZ after few wars with Mouries . Jai Hind ❤ Jai Bharat ❤
I have watched lots of reaction videos on India and Indian singers and movies. I liked your one in particular. You guys are an amazing family. God Bless you all. One thing was not right in the video though , the guys said there is no official language, infact Hindi is India's official language. English is the most widely spoken language as well. In fact, Indian cities would have either local language schools or English medium schools (means everything is taught in English, of course other than local languages). Indians love NZ cricket team and growing up in India, pretty much every India would support NZ cricket team., even if we lose against NZ, its not that much heart breaking compared to losing against other teams. Sad part is when it comes to food, foreigners only knows few famous Indian curries or dishes however every region in India would have their own taste and flavour. Every mother would cook it same dish in different way depending on which region your roots are in India. Same Indian dish, a North Indian would cook totally different than south Indian. Sadly all the Indian restaurants have pretty much similar menu which is not at all authenticate Indian food. NZ renowned Chef Peter Gordon once wrote in his book "The Best Indian food you will ever eat is when any Indian invites you for Dinner. " Last but not least, the local language dialect would change probably every 100 KMs even if you in same state. Even the Hindi language dialect will change from one village to another.
I love my india I am proud ❤️❤️
