A very proud moment for the mouri people, that they have their modern generation still rooted in their culture.Many have forgotten in other parts of the world.The young lady definitely deserves a big salute.We need young people like her in other fading cultures of the world.

They already lost their language. There was a ban on speaking maori in schools few decades ago. I’m no maori but an old maori friend told me. They even lost their ancient indigenous religion

Maori signed a treaty in New Zealand 1840. They were never conquered by the Crown. Sometimes parliament needs to be reminded of that. It's a partnership, after all.
