The English actor Hugh Laurie once said that America was too big to know itself. Not so. We know who we are. We are a group of diverse citizens UNITED in the absolute certainty that LIFE, LIBERTY, and the pursuit of happiness are inherent rights for ALL humanity and will stand up for those rights whatever the cost, on our soil or foreign soil.

The most powerful part of this story, to me, is how the Dutch guy said he was fortunate to have been kidnapped with an American. He's alive today because of it no doubt. Brings tears of pride to my eyes. The 60 Minutes interview where SHE tells the story is much better. There was some embellishment in the one you guys watched.

I've been a security contractor overseas for quite a number of years. I had a Project Manager who was retired from ST6. What an amazing individual he is. The training he gave us quite literally save some of our lives and that of our client. Nothing that he was forbidden to teach, but still above our level of previous training. He is a leader, a professional, a mentor, and I am honored to, to this day, call him my friend, as we communicate relatively often. Those men, along with their brothers in Delta, continue to do things in the middle of the night that we almost never hear about, while the rest of us sleep soundly in our beds. My profound salute and respect to these men.

A very good friend of mine was a member of Seal Team 6 for 20 years. He will always be a SEAL, and he loved it. But he will also always carry physical and emotional scars for the rest of his life. If anyone remembers the old guy Rudy on Survivor, that is who trained him. Rudy, at 60 years old, did everything he demanded them to do, and if they messed up and had to do it over again, Rudy would do it over again too. He was a tough old guy. FYI: Seal Teams as well as other Special Forces will rescue allied citizens when asked. Especially from the "5-Eyes" - USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. SEAL team 6 (the elite team) takes their jobs and everyone’s lives, American or not, very seriously. American pride is something I hold dear to my heart. Every single solider risks their lives every single day to protect the freedoms of myself, my family, and every other American. 🇺🇸 🙏🏼
Seal Team Six are the greatest unit of warriors the world has ever seen. Discipline, commitment, heart, professionalism. They do what is considered impossible.
I can never restrain the tears when she's given the American flag and welcomed home. A tangible representation of your country that you can touch and hold onto, at a time when, emotionally, you must almost be numb. The 60 minutes interview is where she tells her store and her feelings.
Jessica’s brother was so motivated and inspired by the rescue he joined the army and became a special operator. So cool.
Those whose faces are not blurred out in the pic of the team have either been killed in action, or have released the photos themselves, blurring out team members who are still serving or didnt want their identity exposed.
I think it is also really cool how quickly personnel were mobilized and aware of the situation, aware and keeping track of US citizens when abroad. When kidnapped and worried that it is all over, praying someone rescues you, it is comforting to know those prayers of Jessica's were answered, quickly, and efficiently, by experts...going to order the book now... and Love to you guys, America's favorite NZ Family
This was one of those moments as Americans where the political divide we feel in this country often was completely gone. We were so proud of our Country, our soldiers and our leadership in full unity. The U.S. tradition of non negotiation with terrorists, dates back to shortly after the founding. It began when pirates captured a U.S. ship and took the crew hostage. The U.S. sacrificed the sailors when the U.S. attacked the pirate port and fortress located on the shores of Tripoli, in Libya. They couldn't rescue the sailors, but they did burn the U.S. ship that was captured. The attack ended the harassment of U.S. flagged ships, by the pirates.

9:14 you've nailed it on the head. America sends in rescue teams when it's "higher percentage of success" otherwise it can be pretty long before anything happens. We've had kidnapped citizens in China, Russia, and North Korea and we haven't gone to get them. We have however sent our own military to their deaths and traded valuable prisoners for rescuing US citizens who were traitors to the country or just being stupid (bowe bergdahl, brittney griner), those times are always controversial.

2 of the best Navy Seal stories or moments in my opinion are Lone Survivor and American Sniper. I used to rock that same Santa Cruz hoodie in high school in 91! Still looks cool today man
You guys are such a light to the 🌎...thankyou
Watch her interview! What she went through as a hostage (and a women), for 3 months in the desert and come out of it alive is extraordinary!
there is another video where they interview Jessica telling her story that is very good also.
I love watching this family spend time together. Not a single cellphone in site. This is a real family.
Love our Service men and women. God bless them. Go Suns.
This was good BUT watch the 60 minutes interview with Jessica...hearing the story from her point of view was incredible. This was a promo for Seal Team 6 (who are the best) but Jessica's version of the story is much better.

This video is a boat load of lies compared to Jessica's story and her book.

The SAS are the best special forces in the world.
I would love to see you watch her being interviewed by 60 min. She told the story beautifully.
hollering at you from north carolina. we love you guys. glad you are showing what happens in the real world to ur children. latter on in life they will be thankful. you guys have a great family. dont be scared to show them the bad side of society. props to you . many blessing to you my new zealand family
Love your family clip. Thanks for sharing.
We should not forget the many hostages, from multiple countries, who did not survive a similar ordeal, nor those that are currently held captive. I wish there were so many stories similar to Jessica's, that her story wouldn't be so special. ❤

They blur their faces out because they’re still active seals. Not until they retire will their faces be shown.
As a American Navy Veteran. We do that with either Seal team 6or our Army Delta Force because the next time someone want to take an American hostage they have to think that we have people that can go anywhere in the world and get our people from them.

Dad, brother, and brother-in-law were all 82nd Airborne, they’re pretty good unit too.
God bless those men for that rescue.
Jessica's interview just takes your breath away. Please look it up.
Nice video and reaction. What a harrowing experience for Jessica and the other guy. Great ending to the story.
Perfect excuse to get the teams some real world expierence.
1000% agree, Jessica's interview is great and the 60 minutes interview.
I love my country sooo much. Proud Veteran and American.
Her kidnapped friend said he was lucky to be kidnapped with an American.
They have to blur out the faces of current SEAL Team or special operation members.
Within days they had actionable intel on how many people were in the compound(s) and when it was best to execute. They also had multiple teams training and seal team six came out with the best outcome so they were selected. The covered faces are because those members are either still active or play a major role in training active service members and their identity needs to be kept safe.
Awesome video guys, 😉👍, thanks for sharing.
Cool video stay strong
