New York City is the best. Hong Kong is fading. Shenzhen will never catch up, no matter how much money the Chinese communist party wastes building empty glass towers in Shenzhen. The city center itself is nearly always empty. You build office buildings to match demand. New York City is the financial capital of the world, therefore necessary for it to have office buildings. Shenzhen apparently has built even more buildings, but what office space does Shenzhen need? Aside from some Chinese tech firms, Shanghai itself it the business center of China. Why does Shenzhen need more buildings? It doesn’t!

You are dillusional. Did you see the number of homeless people and murder rate? As someone who owns an apartment in Upper West Side, and lives between China and New York I know first hand China is leaving us behind in the dust. The New York City subway and infrastructure is reaching third world levels... New York is not the city that never sleeps anymore... The lights are off before the sun sets...

I first lived in NYC before finally settled in Toronto with my family. Not gonna lie, i was mesmerized. I came to America in 1999! I was 9 years old, China felt like a big countryside when I first came to NYC. The high rises, holy hell. Ok, I'm being repetitive. Then 911 happened, My fam and I relocated to Toronto and Toronto felt like a little town in comparison to NYC. Fast forward, I go back to China once every 2-3 years, China never cease to amaze me with everything. Better accept the fact that China is the future! I do have to say, NYC is the postcard of America. Whether you hate or love the city. People used to chase that American Dream because of NYC!

My wife and I love New York. It is far more exciting for a tourist compared to Toronto where we now live. But you are right, Toronto and NYC never changes and beginning to look tired and old. Hong Kong needs to improve its living conditions but no one can deny its energy and beautiful geography. China is definitely the future. So many cities in China look green and beautiful especially the downtown areas. The housing is way better than HK.

To be honest, I lived in both cities and I like both cities for the culture, gastronomy, the view, the multiculturalism in NYC, HK really can't beat that. Also, the people. They both have many similarities of being known for their hustle and bustle. I loved going to the museums in NYC, and the jazz scene is more vibrant. So, it really isn't a compétition, just where your heart is, I suppose.

I must give this video an A+ for drone footage and an A+ for all the interesting statistics throughout the video. Reporterfy & Media you continually amaze me with each and every presentation. Never a disappointment! Both NYC and Hong Kong are magnetic cities, attracting people from all over the world. To make a remark as to which city is better, is of course one’s own personal choice. It’s like comparing a painting by Edvard Munch against a painting by Andy Warhol. I loved your into with the old TV set. Thumbs up whoever came up with the idea. The music was appropriate for both cities, and again, thumbs up on making those choices. Alex and Julija, you are the Lennon/McCartney team when it comes to video presentations on China! I spent a lot a time in NYC, was there on a near weekly basis for a few years. While I do enjoy quite a bit about it - I love Brooklyn - I think it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of public facilities. Any tourist looking for available, safe, clean public restrooms will be in a for a rude awakening. And while transit is NYC is good by North American cities, it pales to European and East Asian countries. On top of that, Hong Kong has just mesmerizing natural beauty around it - the mountains of Lantau are magical and feel a world away from city life, let alone one of the world's largest cities. So while New York is cool, Hong Kong is just breathtaking.

Based on an WSJ (2019) article, the life-expectancy of older New Yorkers is 81.2 years, roughly 2.5 years longer than the national average and up from the reported life expectancy of 80.9 years in 2010. Cool comparison. A couple of discrepancies. INYC has 2 airports. Technically - Neward, NJ is the 3rd as it is a stone's throw away. But if you include Newark - then you have to include Shenzen and Zuhai with Hong Kong just to be fair. Also Beijing and SHanghai passed Hong Kong in billionaries.

The prime of NYC is in the 1950's and 1960's when the city government had plenty of money to take care of the public. Now NYC is known for its outdated and crumbling infrastructure, high homeless population and high murder rate. Asia is the future of the world. Another excellent video, Alex!

China this year has over one thousand billionaire according to the Hurun report. This is the most by far of any country. The cities with the most billionaires is: 1. Beijing 2, Shanghai 3. New York 4. Shenzhen 5. Hong Kong tie with London I have to say that Hong Kong looks incredible with the mountains and the ultramodern skyscrapers but I am beginning to like 1st tier Chinese cities more and Chongqing is just unbelievable.

I prefer NY over HK anyday. NY is iconic and legendary. Every landmark in NY is world class. NY is not just the financial center of the world, but also THE cultural center. 1 out of 3 movies have scenes in NY. HK looks more modern but that's it tbh.

@@leefromnyc yes because it’s newer. NYC has been developed for over 2 centuries, so it’s infrastructure is definitely older and requires more maintenance but it’s vintage, iconic, and legendary. There is a charm to NY’s bridges, subways, and buildings. HK looks new just like Dubai but no character IMO.
