edge is such a lovely humble man, u2 and nyc, its a match made in heaven, the worlds greatest band and the worlds greatest city, this was filmed in june 2001, i remember seeing it on irish tv then, little did we know what fate awaited nyc 3 months later, 911, god bless nyc and its people, the greatest on the planet

Daniel Pritchard, he played a Streets on a Jazzmaster, and he played Pride on a Jaguar at the end. Similar looking guitars, different sounds

(cont'd from below) Theater orchestras needed service and retail shops as well. During the jazz age in the twenties, the trumpet was the coolest instrument to play. So naturally the shops would cater to the tastes of the public. All those shops were originally brass and woodwind shops. When rock and roll hit, everything changed. Guitars became the big sellers. If you're ever on the corner, just think that those stores witnessed the entire evolution of twentieth century American music.

I hang out at these shops all the time. Over the years I met Stevie Wonder, Dave Matthews and Rick Nielson from Cheap Trick. The reason why those instrument shops are clustered together on that little part of 48th street is because they serviced the entire music business for almost a century. Radio and T.V literally began right down the block at Rockefeller Center. Those orchestra musicians needed repair and retail shops in the neighborhood. You are also in the theater district. The first guitar was actually quite nice. 1964/65 sunburst Fender Jazzmaster. However, the second guitar was much nicer. 1960's Metallic blue Fender Jaguar. Glad he chose the Jaguar.

I remember when they were in NY. They each had their own tour bus and it was parked around the perimeter of MSG. They also had like 3 or 4 tractor trailers with all their equipment. It was quite an army of vehicles !

My first thought was that is sounded like an adaptation of sunday bloody because of how he was singing the melody and he just changed the rhythm of the chords, but the more I listen the more I know that's not it... puzzling

I love early U2, they were brilliant back then. Anything after the Joshua Tree era left me stone cold. In my opinion that was when U2 went corporate and into making as much money as they could. Greedy is the word. I know its a double edged sword, but U2 have just churned out shit to make as much money as possible since that time.

If you stop creating, if you stop innovating, your band will start copyin' itself as Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovy...etc.etc.etc. U2 are the only one example of innovation today.Without them,you wouldn't know killers,coldplay,FFerdinand and so on...
