Isn't that amazing. The chrysler building is a giant in and of itself and is still being dwarfed by all these newer supertall skyscrapers

New York's has big problems such as ridiculous taxes, no affordable housing, millions of square feet of vacant office space, and the illegal immigrant crisis worsening daily. Don't be too surprised if these grandiose and unnecessary projects fall through. Certainly no more office space is needed.

Can New York City still absorb all that office space? Many people are working from home. Also, I have a bad feeling about AFFIRMATION TOWER. It has bad feng shui.

I don’t worry about fang shui, I worry that it’s just ugly. It doesn’t seen to have a design theme, almost as if it were designed by a first year student.

Tower fifth seems very ugly. Cantilevered sections are so over, especially since every example has been hideously ugly. Now it’s old and ugly and suggests stagnation of imagination. And the Steinway Tower is unfortunate in the impression it gives from the side. One, it appears truncated, and secondly, it appears to be straining like an old person with scoliosis. I’m a fan of the new Chase building at 272 park. It is elegant yet muscular, and is the opposite of the enfeebled Steinway building. The crisscrossing supports encase the sections in a secure embrace. Here is a case of where showing the bones of the structure enhances the impression it makes. And I give props to the unique footing which carry up the height of the exposed bones.

Commodore was shortened to 1,575 ft. From the original proposal of 1646 ft. Over a year ago. Don't know where you get your information but it's not accurate. 🤷

Duh. My friend, "Mr. Obvious", is asking me why you didn't bring up the question of whether, or how, the current downturn in office occupancy rates will effect the economic calculus underlying justification for these exceedingly impressive towers. Might you be kind to enough to enlighten my friend? :)

Tower Fifth is HIDEOUS. You can yammer and yammer in corporate-speak, but it is aesthetically terrible. Believe me, it will not age well. And I hope the finances don't come through so we'll never see this monstrosity become reality!

I have a small Dog and it happens that he has diarrhea. Then I jump out of my bed, throw my coat over my head, grab my keys and run downstairs with it. We live on the 1st floor I don't want to imagine where he'll poop when we're standing in the elevator in one of these skyscrapers. 🤢
