Las Vegas is # 1, NYC is a very close # 2. Both were considered Super teams last year. Aja Wilson (Vegas) and Breanna Stewart (NYC) ,in my opinion, are the Best 2 players in the league right now. Both high scorer's, can shoot, can drive it to the hoop, and are defensive monsters.

@@mongoslade277 People are blaming the coach because the defense is glued to Clark way behind the 3 point line, and even doubles behind it at times when she has the ball, yet whatever offense they have in place doesn't take advantage of it. There's a reason why defenses are not able to play that tight on top tier 3 point shooters in the NBA. Even lower tier coaches should know how to take advantage of a defense that is spacing itself out badly and putting itself way out of position when they move to double outside the 3 point line. It's simple stuff that's not being done.

Yeah, being in a team so bad that makes the one she was in college look like an All-Star in comparison, despite having likely just one player making it to the WNBA in the entire time she was there, probably has nothing to do with it. She is literally being guarded one on one the whole game with the default pick and roll defense being doubling her, yet the rest of her teammates can't take advantage of it and the coach two games into the season is just letting her getting tangled on that.

@@2216sammy worst team with an awful coach. Clark plays well when it's a free uptempo style offense that allows her to shoot threes in transition. This is more of a crappy half court offense with no movement. There's no chemistry and ball movement. It's genuinely hard to watch. Clark as well needs to do way more off ball movement. More screens should be set for her. There's always just one screen being set. Iowa would often have 2-3 screens and clark was moving a lot off the ball. Her eyes were always up to pass ahead in transition. Aliyah boston isn't a good transition big. She's more of a slow paced half court big which right now doesn't mesh well with the way clark likes to play. Also, clark doesnt have the speed or athleticism yet which is a big problem.

@@ALLCITY73 Not necessarily, in fact it's pretty unlikely. Even with an expansion team, there's still a lottery in basketball. I think the last time in the WNBA there was expansion, teams were assigned either the 4th or 6th pick,- I can't remember offhand now, but expansion teams usually aren't granted the first overall pick in the NBA or WNBA. There's still debate as to how it'll be done this time; there definitely will be a limited expansion draft for the Valkyries, and then, based on the CBA rules and just, how it's happened in the past, they're probably gonna get the first draft pick, that comes outside, the lottery, which in this case, the WNBA has four teams that miss the playoffs, so they'll probably get assigned the 5th pick. I say probably 'cause there's a slight chance still that they might add another team next year...- I think it's most likely they'll add Toronto in 2026, but Portland might pay the expansion fee in time....- I think Cathy Engelbert has mentioned this is a possibility, but....- This is a little unclear and I think it's too unlikely, but, if that's the case,- well, there's a couple ways this could happen. Honestly, if I remember correctly, when the Raptors and Grizzlies joined the NBA, they actually had a coin flip to see who got the higher draft pick, but it would still be like, the 5th and 6th picks. Also, the WNBA lottery is slightly unusual 'cause the odds of the bottom four teams are actually cumulative from the previous two seasons, not just the previous seasons' records. This means, despite Indiana being the third worst team last year, they actually had the best odds to get the number one spot, which they won, because their previous year was just particularly bad. Indiana probably won't have it next year,- unless they just fall off a cliff completely; right now, it's probably either Phoenix, it could be Seattle, but I think they'll improve this year, but those two have a better shot right now. But yeah, Golden State, very unlikely to get the number one pick, unless they change the CBA rules completely before the draft, which doesn't seem likely at all, or they trade up to get it, which...- eh, maybe they steal somebody in the expansion draft, but I don't think they'll have the capital to potentially give up somebody like a Paige Beuckers, unless the Fever need more height; I could see them trading down for somebody like Ayoka Lee, put her in at center, move Boston to forward-, eh that still seems a little risky, especially since they can also use a true PG and move Clark to SG. Depends how the draft falls.

No midrange game. Do not leave open shots a high percentage when left open. Has range. Liability on defense cannot defend pick and roll or pick and pop. Excellent free throw shooter. Prone to turnovers if played physical or picked up full court. Struggles with quick guard or big guard who can move there feet. After the 1st 2 game the league is ready for her. I think she’ll do fine by mid season.

Her lacking a mid range game is why I've always felt Paige is a more "ready" WNBA scorer. Paige has a bigger bag and better ability to create shots off the dribble than her which is super important when youre facing great defenders every night. Her only problem will be her size and strength. I'm sure Clark will adjust, but it will be rough and she will shoot a VERY poor percentage if she doesnt improve her ability to create shots off the dribble.

It's important for players to have a variety of ways to score and not just spam moves. When you play the best in the world, it just wont work. I genuinely think unless she can develop a mid range game and ability to shoot while going right, she will have a mediocre career. She's also such a bad defender and doesn't have the physicality to compete in the wnba. That's going to be a problem unless her offense can be so good that it doesn't make it a liability.

She will struggle to get separation. And for someone like her who isnt the most effecient shooter(lets be real yall she's a streaky shooter with crazy range) the adjustment will be tough. NY is the projected 2nd. Their starting five are some of the most decorated in the league. Stewart, the leading scorer, is one of the most decorated in the women's game worldwide. Indiana is one of the youngest teams in the league. They have a lot of talent but only a couple of experienced players. They have one of the top guards in the league but she's on limited minutes due to injury. Their center was rookie of the year, so teams are coming after her hard this year. So, it's going to be rough to start for them.

what both you said is kinda evident watching the game. they kinda made a run in the third, so the Fever has some game, but when they came back to start the 4th, all the ground they made up was gone pretty quickly. you could just see that NY was better, and finished plays better.

Can't explain it. I've never looked up WNBA highlights since it's inception . I have like three times in two weeks now

As a (somewhat) new fan who got into womens basketball because of Liberty and players like Stewie and Ionescu, and then kept up with Clark for all of the WNBA off-season, it's really awesome seeing so many fellow Clark fans who are new to the WNBA come to appreciate Stewie and Liberty too 😌

Coach needs to go! You could see on their offensive sets that whoever catches the first pass is not waiting for the play to develop where the screen is being set for Kaitlyn Clark by the three-point line for her to get an open shot and instead, dribbling it to the basket and missing layups or getting it blocked. Boston can’t get her shot off against any quality Biggs. The fact this coach didn’t call a time out and scream at the team that they need more patience and wait for the week side action was consistently getting open after a screen was set for her, but the play was already finished by the time this happened every single time down the floor.this is a terrible coach

A lot of CC fans put a lot of pressure or weight on Caitlyn Clark coz of what she has done in college but the truth is there is a lot of players before her that has accomplished more than her. And now if she fails, they blame the coach, the roster. Its unfair that they had put such burden on her

Are they paying players under the table? Salary cap shouldn't allow the team to be that stacked. Not sure if WNBA has a hard cap or soft cap like NBA.
