New York & Lake Erie FPA2 and FPA4 Alcos
New York & Lake Erie Railroad's FPA2 #6758 and FPA4 #6764 Alcos do a runaround at South Dayton, New York on September 8, 2013. This was the first series of passenger train excursions on the NY&LE since 2009 when severe storms caused major washouts on the line.

What's the purpose of uncoupling the engines from the train and then recoupling them? If they are on opposite ends of the train then I would think the train would simply reverse direction for the return trip.
It was indeed a great ride. I regularly checked their webite for the past several years and was delighted when they finally resumed passenger excursions this past week. I too hope they continue!
A GREAT time riding the rails! Was honored to ride on the resumption of passanger trips! I hope they continue!
@ Don Rogers: Thanks!
How often do these passenger train excursions happen down in south dayton?
Looks good
Why would you have to do a runaround if you have a unit on each end?
Cool
