New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys, Week 13 1992 Full Game (Thanksgiving Day)

Спорт

The NFC East-leading Cowboys (9-2) are the holiday hosts to a 5-6 New York Giants squad trying to stay afloat in the playoff race with a rookie QB (Kent Graham) at the helm. Will Dallas take another step toward their first division title since 1985, or will it be the Giants pulling off a colossal upset?
Pat Summerall and John Madden tell you all about it for CBS from Texas Stadium. Enjoy!

That E. Smith run after the catch shows you how great he was. He was in the open field and the guy never even touched him. Tremendous footwork and so thrilling to watch. I have to give credit to Graham here, he kept his head in the game. Dave Brown was at best a third stringer.

The History of Dallas playing every Thanksgiving started when the NFL wanted to start having games on Thanksgiving . The majority of the teams did not want it but Tex Schram said Dallas would do it every year. Schram was smart enough to know that would give the Cowboys more exposure to the rest of the League.

The commentators today talk about everything but the game - player contracts, future stadium plans, player girlfriends and families, what they did in college, what they're season goals are, how many games they need to win to get into the playoffs, etc etc, everything but the game.

So many years they get into the playoffs only to lose. Doesn't matter the coach or QB. Every year the same result.

That in my estimation, was the best music that CBS ever had (before or since) for the NFL. Frankie Vinci composed it and it debuted during CBS' coverage of Super Bowl 26 (Washington vs. Buffalo at the Metrodome in Minneapolis).
