British scaffolder here I’ve gotta say that scaffold is absolutely shocking especially the way you displayed those boards, you set so many traps along the way I’m quite surprised none of your guys hasn’t fallen through. There’s no double handrail you didn’t fully board out the lift, and you certainly didn’t tranny (transom)out the lift below to support the boards so all and all the scaffold is a Gappy fucking mess. If you tried this here in the U.K. you’ll go to prison for 12 years with a slapping £100,000 fine

Scaffolds don’t get judged or inspected till after completion, we are in the process of installing , if all the netting isn’t up then that means the scaffold not complete that’s obvious to anyone with common sense in this trade.

bx_mello2.0 That’s crazy every scaffold should be inspected at the end of the day, lives depend on that scaffold anything can go wrong and every scaffolding engineer is responsible it’s such a dangerous trade. And please don’t take my comment the wrong way, just be careful up there

Naw tube and fitting? Cuplock or pinlock. Strongest out there. You can hag and do whatever. Most versatile. But ya frame is jankey af. Here on the west coast they only use that to build around houses.

My first 5 years doing scaffolding was in Florida then Texas , all we used was pin lock system scaffold. All I did was hangers, soon as I moved back to NYC to do scaffolding, i was a little uncomfortable but quickly adjusted and found out that it was just a money thing. System scaffold is a lot more expensive. System scaffold is mostly used for staircases when workers need more space to hoist up material by hand. The walk through frames what they call ( pipe scaffold) is traditional for all companies and majority of jobs in NYC. The material uses less components and goes up faster. Most workers don’t tie off at all but if you chose to the only piece strong enough on the frame is the thickest blue bar.

What's amazing is how no one has reported this to building code or OSHA, I say that to say this...everyone else is punished or looked at with extra scrutiny when an accident occurs. Yes, you may have gone so many years without an accident or fatality but when it does happen everyone else pays the price..not to mention the poor soul that was duped into thinking "this is the way". I just hope yall's life insurance is up to date. Your family shouldn't financially suffer from stupid decisions. Smh.

If you tell me that it is a poor country in Latin America I believe you, but the fact that it is in NYC leaves me quite shocked...many people have to die there. At least in Europe we have certain security guarantees in a job that is already very dangerous.

Literally seen better and safer scaffolds in Thailand and Bali, crazy that this is allowed in one of the biggest cities in the world, the USA really don't give a f*** about there construction workers. Would get sent to jail for 6 consecutive lifetimes if we posted that here in Australia. Not a dig at the scaffolders you guys are doing a good job with the cards your dealt in that country, the blame goes to your lack of regulatory bodies like WHS or OSHA.
