I am 60 years old and in many ways have had a hard life. However, the 1990's were definitely a better decade for me and for everyone I believe. It was a more hopeful optimistic period of time. The Cold War was over and all the problems of war and climate change and growing dystopia in politics and with new, untried high technology were not even on most people's radar. The 90's are the good old days in my book. My best decade for certain. Things really started going downhill after 9/11 2001. That is when the golden age ended.

I’d finished grad school a few years before ‘95 and was a few years into a career that lasted until 2017 when mental health struggles forced me to retire early. Rather than stressing me out and contributing to my mental health struggles, I feel nyc kept me going and held me up through my struggles. Professional life in nyc from the 90’s-pre pandemic was magical. I’d give anything to turn the clock back 30 years and do it again.

Oh Bless you my dear fellow New Yorkers.... I am so sorry for the innocent loss of so many lives!" How Deep Is Your Love".... I know our love runs deep and forever for and from New York. I left Upstate in 95' and March of 95' would be the last timeI would see NYC pre-9/11😭. I was in Denver, Colorado on 9/11 but strangely awakened out here at 6 am. Like jerked from my sleep to see Katie Couric talking on T.V... anyhow. I was never the same either. Even living out bere. Could say more but mostly THANK YOU for returning a piece of my mind, Heart, memories, and SOUL via this priceless footage🗽🍎💔💘 NYC; LOVE 4 LIFE!

I may have cut school on this very day and went to NYC. I've lived here for 20 years now and the hum of the city is so different from then. It's not better or worse just different. It's remarkable to see how big the cars were, no one staring down at their cellphones, how few bikes there are, no bike lanes. Thanks for this!

8:27, RTS's galore, including the then Brand New 1994 TMC RTS's! They were numbered #8600-#8703, and were the first buses delivered with the newer Detroit Diesel Series 50 engine. These buses retired in 2010, replaced by the 2008-10 Orion VII Next Generation Hybrids. They were a mainstay at Michael J. Quill, and later went to JFK/Far Rockaway.

The year I moved to New York. I was 22, fresh out of college and incredibly naive looking back on it. I left in 2003. Never made any money but had a good time. I'm now 47....wow time goes by in the blink of an eye. But I will tell people, I lived in Manhattan in my 20s and that is the time to do it, if you are ever going to! Still love NYC but it has changed a lot and not for the better. It's more cookie cutter generic.

I was in NYC this year and was very disappointed with "cars" as there were almost no domestic brands to be seen. Not even cabs! London managed to keep their taxis alive, but in NYC I`ve seen only one Caprice in 7 days. For me, the city lost a big part of its soul.
