Hey Rob, I'd like to chat with you sometime about your busking experience in NY. NY may actually be my next busking adventure. So far I've busked Las Vegas NV, Ventura CA, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Barbara, Seal Beach, Laguna Beach and my hometown in Whittier. My hometown was the toughest, followed by Vegas. (I've currently been residing in Ventura CA. over the past decade.) However, Id definitely like to try busking Las Vegas NV again but with a different approach. Last time I just moved to Vegas not knowing anything or anyone. I entered this desert of lights soly just relying on my busking skills to survive. I learned quickly that I was no longer in California and found myself in a bad situation after just a few months. I really enjoyed conversing with all the other buskers and street performers in LV. I really felt at home while busking there amonst entertaining peers. For once in my life it seemed I was actually able to speak to people who understood my language!! It was my living situation and roommates dealt to me that led to my hasty departure back to Cali. However, the lessons I've learned and continue to learn daily, busking has inspired me to progress and instilled in me a sense of fearless resilience in the challenges I've faced and will face in the future. love your channel. What is the best city for busking that you've been to? Do you ever get steady gigs? I wish I could do the mic like you but I use about 7 different harmonicas. I now look forward to all your videos.

Lawrence Rasmus yes i often do steady gigs, Europe is best for busking, in the US sometimes small towns can be good, look for markets and ask to play ... sometimes they will pay you also ...

@@RealRobOnTheRoad thanks for your reply. What do you use to replace it. If you get the opportunity try fisherman’s wharf in San Francisco after the pandemic. I’m not as talented as you and 85 year old I make A decent living.you need a three month permit and it cost $100. You can do three hour sets Good luck

@@yising4u2qt I just got a generic large suitcase with 4 wheels. I was at Fisherman’s Wharf this past summer, I didn’t busk because I didn’t have the permit but seen lots of buskers maybe even you, seemed that all the buskers where doing very well despite the pandemic 😷

I think busking should be made illegal in New York’s public places (such as parks and subway stations).
