That caller was likely spam. Had a similar thing happen to me and I had to have my phone carrier install a custom app on my phone to block all spam calls and texts. Rock on Norma!

Hi Norma. I had no idea who you were, but New Year's Eve our friends and I were needing a feed of the Vegas fireworks from humble Portland Oregon. We were on your stream initially and were thinking "who is this very interesting woman under the parasols?" but then I suppose your plight started. We ended up on the Jaycation stream which was fine but was I'm sure not as good as yours would have been. It made us feel like we were there, and we rallied for you when we heard on their stream what happened. We were wracked with nerves for if you were OK, so I'm glad to hear that, even though you were disappointed, you're moving forward. We look forward to your stream next year! #TeamNorma

Technically has downfalls. I would recommend having backups and filming equipment that is separate from your phone. As a sidebar, I like your show. You do great work and keep positive. You have to surround yourself with the best people and keep tabs on them too.

Happy New Year Norma! I hate to hear what happened to you during your livestream. I got a free fix for you so that this doesn’t happen again. For iPhone go to Settings->Phone->Silence Unknown Callers. Calls from unknown numbers will be silenced, sent to voicemail, and displayed on Recents list. Incoming calls will continue to ring from people in your contacts and recent outgoing calls. I believe you can also use do not disturb if you don’t want anyone in your contacts calling you during a livestream. Hope this helps, us paisas got to look out for one another. Wish you the best!

So sorry you had that happen Norma. No idea what the person behind it was thinking but always remember their actions don’t reflect on you. It’s impossible to go through life without pissing off at least a few people on the way. Unfortunately the more we succeed, the more some people will take umbrage at that. While it’s easy to say “don’t let it get to you” (and I absolutely support that message) the reality is for most of us it will prey on our minds. So instead I will simply reiterate that your are a smart, successful, hard-working woman, and deserve every bit of success you have earned.

I really do care much for the holidays anymore. The wife loves them though so I try to go along with everything. Although I do get just about the entire month of December off which is nice. Spent Christmas and most of the week in Vegas.

i watched last years countdown where there was like 20k people watching it was great so i tuned in again it sucks that that happened but there are some petty fu#&ed up people out there who are obviously jealous of your success i mean you've done a lot with your channel and this is just a learning experience for you but keep plugging away you'll do just fine.

I got off work at 11:56pm up by where the Texas Station use to be. Without writing about where I work, I finally walked out to my car and Made It Another Year to See The Fireworks Going Off!! I realized it was only about 7 minutes long. I thought they were 10 - 14? I'm hoping to go down there next year. Spring Mtn. is where I always stood around. I figure it beats walking thru all of them. I'm not staying down there. And it's seemingly a quick way to get back to my vehicle. ps, Google Fi has deep discounts on their phones. I now have 3. My first is a Flip 4 I bought last February. A S23 Ultra I bought last March. And now a Google Pixel 8 Pro I bought 2 weeks ago. I moved the Flip 4 & S23 to T-Mobile with the help from Cellular Depot, 4113 W. Sahara. They always have a 5 Star rating. I give them a 5 Star for their service last week. My Google Pixel 8 Pro is on the Google Fi $20 month plan, for now. Not sure about the phone hacking. Military service people are always Training, Soo. I hope to have a cup of coffee with you. Anyway, have a better 2024!!!

Casino Royale, Circus Circus, The Strat, and Tropicana also have free parking. It is worthwhile getting the MGM and/or Caesars credit cards just for free parking. I wonder if putting your phone on DND or setting it to block no caller ID would have prevented those calls from interrupting your stream?
