One of my very best friends is Japanese, and she explained to me that in Japan they actually have a kind of "culture" when it comes to wrapping presents... because they consider the wrapping of the present as a part of the gift itself, and so that's why they take such care when wrapping their gifts (and also opening a gift they've received as well.) I was intrigued by this concept, because as Americans, we (in most families) rip through the wrapping to get straight to the contents quickly lol. When I listened to her explain, it was logical and reasonable to consider that the wrapping is just as important as the gift, as they *both* took time to make. I have adapted this into my regular gift giving standards and it really is delightful giving a gift to someone that has been thoughtfully wrapped. And I was so encouraged to watch my friend open her birthday present so carefully and respectfully. It made me smile. Thank you for this video. I have a few new tricks up my sleeve now, thanks to you heehee 😁🥰❤

At first I thought you didn't cut enough paper for the box. Then you showed us an unconventional way to fold. Great tutorial. Thank you!

Beautiful & so simple! And that letter opener trick to perfectly cut the paper is an awesome hack!

Black paper with the bright design on the inside, is so my bag and I didn't know it till today. Fantastic skill and patience!

i thought the first one was cool, then i saw the second one and wow. opens up like a flower. the paper is exquisite too.

This was absolutely wonderful, and can I just say, the form the instructions were given was so kind. The "please" made me smile every time I saw it, if someone asked me to do something for them like that, I would for I no matter what it is.

Thanks for your feedback. The reason why please was written a lot is that Korean has honorable words, so it seems that please was written a lot when I turned the translator. Corrected the subtitles in your opinion.

I bought a few Japanese books like Sei Shonagon's pillow book for a friend for christmas. And this kind of wrapping would fit perfectly. Really love it ❤️

This so great. I love it. It only requires 2 tapes. My first attempt was no where near this. However it still looked better than my usual wrapping. Your my inspiration. I will practice and get better. Please list the supplies you use and if possible where to get them from. Thank you.

I just did the white paper method, it's really cool! I found it a little difficult to make the folds symmetrical, not sure why. Unfortunately my paper had a lot of creases at the end and doesn't look too neat. Any tips on practising?

This is not an easy wrapping method. It's amazing that you succeeded in just a few times. The second wrapping method is suitable for the low and long wrapping method :)

Ive been wanting to do gifts without adding a ton if tape, if any and using blank paper that I've painted I designs when giving gifts now. This is perfect for me to use a little ribbon and make gifts look even prettier. I can't wait to try this out!

I do this technique and sometimes leave the folds a little bit loose, so the crisscross makes a pouch and then you cans slide a little ornament or candy into it.

I did like this.. It was very bueatiful.. Thanks for teaching
