I know a couple people who do 😂 my dad had worn the same thing everyday for the last 20+ years. So has my both grandpa's, they are walking cartoon characters

Also small place tip, buy under the bed storage and keep your seasonal clothes in there. That way the closet can be for whatever season it is currently.

Decision fatigue is real. A few years ago, I adopted a "1 in, 3 out" mentality because I had so much cheap shit in my house and it just didn't feel good. Then a friend mentioned how Kondo's "Life Changing Way of Tidying Up". I was sure there was nothing I could learn but I read it. And it changed my life. My bra drawer now sparks joy. Besides books and spices, lol, I'm now super intentional on what I bring into my home.

the paradox of choice is a huge reason why trader joe’s is so successful and beloved-to only have to choose from one brand instead of hundreds for a single product is much less stressful to us. also the cute packaging helps too haha

Awesome video! If you have pieces you are unsure about for this season of life you should create a "time will tell" bin or box. You put a date on the box and donate it if you haven't gone into the box or container to retrieve the item you need. Dawn from The Minimal Mom and The Minimalists have videos all about how they use them. I also agree with everyone's suggestions about an off-season clothing bin under your bed to help you with clothing rotation and space. Also, turning your hangers around at the start of the year, after however long you choose, anything that still has a backward hanger means you haven't worn it.

i alwayssss switch out my summer/spring and fall/winter wardrobes and it has given me so much clarity!!! i keep the clothes that are not in season either in a trunk that i use as my coffee table or in a suitcase :))) huge change, i 11/10 recommend it, it's like getting a whole new wardrobe every few months!!!

The best tip is that you shouldn't buy it if you can't picture the piece with at LEAST 3 different outfits. Even if it's cute! If you can't see yourself wearing it all the time or wearing it again after you post it on social media, you probably don't need it. The value doesn't equal the cost or the space in your closet :). I loved this video.

Idk how much space you have, but for the excess clothing I try to store some of my seasonal clothes in bins under my bed and then I switch them out when the season changes. You could probably also store it under a couch or designate a drawer or something as well. Hope that helps and happy 2023!

I'm loving the video, and so I wanted to make an addition to it that changed the way I bought clothes and watch for inspiration in the internet Not everyone's basic pieces are the same! We've been influenced to think that a blazer, a jean, a black dress or even a white shirt are things that cannot be missing in your wardrobe, while in reality we do not dress the same way. The same way applies to colors: if you don't like beige, you don't have to have your "basics" being beige! Your everyday bottom may be a flowy skirt rather than a jean, and that's okay. Your color pallette can exclude white and black, your basic t shirt can be a bright orange one with a big purple font in it Notice what you really like that's already in your closet, and try to complete it Hope this is helpful to someone 🥺

Idea for your closet ! Since you have 2 closets, you could use the first one for everything you're wearing at the moment, your everyday basics and "capsule wardrobe" kind of, and use the second one to store all the off season/occasional stuff you're keeping ? That way, you get to open your main closet and see only the stuff you're really wearing atm, it would make it easier and less overwhelming to grab and choose ! And rotate every season, or so

As a person who also lives in a TINY space have you ever considered moving your TV drawers to where your dining table is and swap them. Place the couch to face your new TV direction and get the SAME drawers to put behind your couch for out of season items. Then it can just be used as a "behind the couch coffee table" to put a lamp on or whatever. Could be cute? / good use of space? I feel your pain, my apartment is so small!

You should get vacuum sealed bags that you can use to put things under your bed or in a small space in your apartment

I love thredup! Have purchased clothes for years now and had myself bought various athleta leggings just a couple weeks ago. The only problem I have with them is the detergent they use!!!🤢 I really don’t like scented laundry detergents and i have to wash the clothes I purchase at least twice, sometimes more depending on the material, to get rid of the detergent smells!

At one point, I read we wear 3 pairs of jeans/pants over and over. We wear those because they're so comfy. Then everything else is noise. That helped me dump about 10+ pairs of denim, lol.

You probably are now finding your own style and realized the stuff you have don’t fit that certain style . You can sell your stuff of Poshmark or thread up . Poshmark you have to list things yourself and thread up does the work for you .
