New wheelchair - Quickie Argon 2 first impressions - quadriplegic CMT disease

#wheelchair #NewWheelchair #Quadriplegic #QuickieWheels #SunriseMedical #Argon2
So today my new wheelchair arrived, it is the Quickie Argon 2 and these are my first impressions.
I like how the chair looks, however it needed and still does need some adjusting.
The front castor wheels seem like they fight turning back or swivelling in the opposite direction.
The scissor brakes are extremely difficult for me to put on.
Hopefully these things will be rectified And I can carry on, and enjoy my new chair!
Please don’t think I sound like an ungrateful brat, I’m having to contribute £1200 towards this chair - and if I’m paying that amount I want it to be perfect for me.

That's so frustrating that it isn't how you wanted it. 😔

I had to stop after 90 seconds when she complained about buying a fully adjustable chair that needs adjusting to suit her preferred position. Of course it won't be right out of the box. Hoping to get this chair but I do realise it will need adjusting to fit

Thank you SO much for your comment. I love ones like this as they're just so fun to reply to. This chair was delivered to me and I was told it was already adjusted fully set up for me. Do you know how hard it is to get people to come out and adjust your chair when you don't live in a city? Do you know what it's like to wait so long for something expensive that you've paid for, and then you can't use it? Do you realise that adjusting a wheelchair isn't a preference? Would it be your preference to sit in an uncomfortable, wonky, tippy chair all day, or would it be an essential need both for safety and comfort that it was suitable for you? It also didn't arrive in a box.

Also, the adjustments were only the beginning, there have been so many other things wrong with this chair that nearly a year later I'm still having to work on. It feels cheap, flimsy, heavy and bolts constantly fall out. And before you retort with "a wheelchair needs maintaining", no, it shouldn't need bolts tightening daily or even weekly. The adjustable push handles constantly come loose when I'm being pushed, as does the folding back rest. Except when I want it to fold, then it won't.
