@@Rouxenator The Polo and even the bare bones Vivo versions are the best and most reliable vehicles VW has ever made. There is a reason why it outsells even the Corolla. And for the money you spend for either version, they would be WAY superior to the cardboard toy cars that other competitors will try to sell you in this segment.

Wow, that explanation of a 1.4 N/A engine being less powerful in Jo’burg is sooo true & I just recently got a Polo & couldn’t understand why it lacks so much power when on an incline.

I'm a big vw guy, but I'd rather buy a 2016/2017 Polo GTI. Great car and review nonetheless.

Reason why VW has a 9 year service plan is because they know they can last that long with no issues. 11 years later, I'm still driving my Polo Comfortline.

Toyota should have brought in an immediate replacement when they discontinued the Tazz, now the budget car sector is ruled by the vw vivo. I own a vw vivo and it's a remarkable budget vehicle. I also owned the Tazz another good vehicle after 12 years the car was sold in December of 2016, I had covered 390,000kms In my opinion the polo vivo is better offers much more e.g. aircon, p/s, a Bluetooth deck, mine is the 2015 vivo comfortline 1.6 , I just love the car. Very very very light on fuel .

I still maintain that they should have dumped the Polo Vivo name and called it the Polo Playa 🤷🏾‍♂️.

Greetings from Bergvliet, Cape Town. I still think the sweet spot for me in terms of engines is the 1.6l naturally aspirated engine. Plenty of power when needed when and where necessary and light on fuel as wel. Also, straight-forward manual transmition all the way. That's why I love the Golf 4, Golf 5, Golf 6 and the pre-facelift Vivo shape Polo so much. Although I have encountered the Polo shape from 2010 and later I have yet to experience it in more detail. I personally don't mind having to manually wind the windows up and down. Electric windows should be an option added upon request. That's just me but I do understand that some people prefer electric windows. I also don't understand why Polo and Polo Vivo drivers have to drive as if the road is a race track. Come on people! These Polos are not race cars!

I'd remove the stickers. Everything else is perfect

@@Rouxenator Fully agree with you on that one. I'm a diesel technician, and can tell you from experience that vw is absolutely kak to work on. Had to remove a Golf intercooler after the flimsy turbo failed.... Had to remove almost the whole front of the car, bumper, grille, headlamps, and God knows what else to get to it. Cost the customer ten times as much as a simple Toyota intercooler.

Im driving that car and im so inlove with it but mine i took one extra of LED headlights and i so wish i took the sunroof also

We've got the MK6 Polo. VW South Africa sells both the MK6 Polo and Mk5 Polo simultaneously (the MK5 Polo going by the name Polo Vivo, a more affordable Polo option) They did the same thing with the Mk4 Polo, selling it as a Polo Vivo alongside the Mk5 Polo when it was new. Basically they just keep selling the older car as a more budget/youth orientated option.

If i were to consider buying the car..i would try my level best to remove the tags just to benefits from the additional features. Thats how bad the name sounds in mi ear. But overall its not a bad update except the naming part. They should called it polo flopped

I drive a 2020 polo vivo 1.4 comfortline and there is no difference between this cars. , mine also has android auto and apple car play at no extra.... rim Nd the interior are the only noticeable difference I can see

Vw should have also kept the rear with disc brakes than the old drum brakes...?. Bring back the UP GTI to South Africa.

@@vainondovala6578 Yep. Diesel technician at a garage in Cape Town. Working mostly on bakkies, as well as cars. Petrol and diesel. I find vw very annoying to work on. Many people say for vw, you need a vw mechanic. Could be, I've heard in Germany they're a bit better, and mechanics know how to fix them. I will admit that their build quality, especially bodywork is excellent

And I'm from Mpumalanga I know what you say🤣

Mswenko is the main reason people move to Capetown. LOL!

I absolutely hate theses polo's, they are everywhere and the drivers usually tail gate you until you move over! Also, the risk of getting hijacked is too high and lacks soul and personality

I've seen the P series looks good I have to say. For me just a matter of principle, pocket, wellbeing and peace of mind. I will stick with the tried and tested. That's the one thing I've learnt the hardway.

Own a Jetta or Golf after driving it a Polo you istantly feel the differance.Me coming from 2 citigolfs one 14 and one 7 years old then a 2010 vivo,huge improvement especially brakes and feul consumption.After the vivo i want a new car but they were too expensive bought a Ford Figo 2013 brandnew the petrol one.Huge mistake turning away from VW.Kids got older and luggage more so needed something bigger.Bought Jetta 5. Well maintained 1 very neat spend 5 months looking for it.Now we talking massive boot electric mirors and windows its in a class better then a Corolla the same age.Drove a Quest the 1st Gen 5 years old the other day.Not the same as the Jetta. Jetta more planted and more solid.Gonna keep it for let say 5 more years.Polos getting too expensive for what they are same as Corollas.Boring.What must I say Im getting old but who say a 50year old guys can not drive and own a Golf????
