New Volvo XC60: You won't believe what's changed inside!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is the Volvo XC60, and Mat’s about to find out if it’s as good in 2023 as it was when it was first released in 2017!
Well for starters, let’s take a look at the design. If we’re being honest, it hasn’t changed all that much from the original 2017 edition… But that’s not necessarily a bad thing! It’s got a good-looking, well proportioned side profile, and certain areas come with smart looking chrome trim, such as around the grille at the front. There is the option to swap this for black trim, but we’d definitely choose to keep the chrome!
Take a step inside and it’s a similar story with the design of the outside - it’s all pretty similar to how it was back in 2017. The portrait style infotainment system remains, although we’re not the biggest fan of it, given all controls are managed via the touchscreen. Thankfully though it’s surrounded by soft touch materials throughout the cabin, apart from the odd bit of scratchy plastic dotted around. The latest version of the XC60 also comes with a full digital dial drivers display!
There are a number of engines to choose from. There’s a 2-litre diesel with 197hp, or a 2-litre turbo petrol with 250hp. There are also two plug-in hybrid editions that make use of the 2-litre turbo petrol, with the range-topper delivering 455hp. Each comes with a 14kWh battery pack and the ability to drive on electric power alone for up to 43 miles.
When it comes to the price, an entry-level XC60 starts from just under £48,000, rising all the way up to around £68,000! So given the design has hardly changed in the last few years, is it really worth it? Or should you go for something like a Mercedes GLC or Audi Q5 instead? Let us know in the COMMENTS!

I bought the 2023 XC60. My first Volvo after 30 years of Toyota ownership. Very pleased. Volvo does an excellent job keeping you posted through emails.
We bought one last week! Very happy with it in general. The android infotainment system is great with Spotify and Google Maps but it occasionally has its issues lags/freezes etc. The air suspensions makes it the most comfortable Volvo I have ever driven but it kinda drives like a boat because of it. We found the GLC too expensive for its interior quality. The X3 was also great but 22/23 models lack crucial features because of chip shortage.

The Volvo's front drive or Haldex (as in the Passat) puts me off a bit. And the biggest disadvantage of the volvo is that there are no engines above 2.0. Excellen review. Matt, as for the headrest: You cannot move it as on all Volvos. It is higher than most, so it fits all heights. The idea is, that most people do not adjust their headrest completely. Also, the steering wheels on Volvos are manual, so the driver isn not locked in case of a collision when the power is out.

On older models there was a driving mode selector in center console. Strange to remove that
I'm not sure about the latest model but in my XC60 T8 in the boot there is a second pair of buttons that allows you to auto fold rear seats. As for the mode change then on the center consol there is a "scroll button", when you press it down it allows you to change the driving modes.

We owned a 2020 XC60 R-Design, and have just taken delivery of our 2023 B6 Ultimate. Both cars had the maximum configuration. I have to say, I'm not particularly impressed with this iteration. Sure the wireless Android Auto is cool. The trade-offs are however: a less sporty feel (yes, I know, it's a comfort SUV), no self-parking (this was such a nice feature for tight spots downtown), speed limiter at 180 kph (I've gotten, sorry *heard*, our 2020 could get up to 220 with relative ease), the driving mode switching is unnecessarily complicated. It's disappointing to see such changes. Maybe the speed limiter is a Canada only thing.

My XC60 will be delivered feb24. Speed limiter 180km/h as well here in Belgium, and not in Belgium only but all over Europe I guess.
I am not really fan of Volvo but I think it is one of the best cars at this size and price. Thanks for reviewing this car. ❤❤💙💙🚙🚙
What is the special timing gear that you are using? :)
This is actually one of the safest SUVs and it is also one of the strongest ones in the market 😄

Not this case. Model Y is the safest SUYs right now.

I am positive that new dashboard will be in EX30. Maybe the new central console as well. Fingers crossed.
Man you are a legend car reviewer ❤
Can we all take a moment to appreciate just how terrible the crease looks on Mat's phone?

I have a v60 T6 hybrid and its a rocket. My wife has a xc90 D5 and I love that design even more + 7 seats
My wife's 2019 B4 has a configurable individual drive mode, accessed via the rotary dial by the gear stick

My 2018 xc90 has the rotary dial as well, it was removed for cost saving due to car shortages.

@@bianzidan I heard that it wasn't compatible with the Google os! Nonetheless was a brilliant shortcut that was safe to use whilst on the move. We use the individual mode to disable the start/stop system.

One of the dumbest comments on this video
Same old dull crap exterior design. Too conservative for these modern days.
Love ure videos
Agree re:dials, but i find it easier to change the A/C temp by voice control. You can turn the seat warmer/steering wheel warmer with the same. Dial screen looks better when u click google maps on it so u can use the infotainment screen while getting directions. Dunno about the uk but in aus the car has its own sim card and runs on android operating system, so i havent needed to use android auto via the phone Phone just connects via bluetooth so u can use the phone wirelessly.
bitter truth, but its sad to see that you can clearly tell volvo is starting to look more like its chinese counterparts thanks to a chinese company owning volvo itself

Except that the appearance of the XC60 hasn't changed for years, so you'd need to be hallucinating.
I really want to see a review of lynk&co 05. I'm interested in your opinion
Puntastic episode!
The collar mic keeps peaking I'd wish you employ an audio engineer to correct the audio other than that huge fan great work
10:25 there is a button taht reads "driving mode" next the the volume button underneath the screen
