The lights aren’t synced anymore on the new Tahoe’s. They also switched from their iconic siren to the Whelen CenCom Siren with added evacuation tones (aka the European Two Tone siren.)

In California, Hi-Low and phaser "machine gun" sirens are not legal code 3 response sirens. The max allowable swing from high to low tone is 249 cycles per minute and must be a continuous flow through the spectrum. Like if you start at the lower keys on a piano and drag your finger from the left to right over all the keys No large abrupt changes in tone. I believe since it is an odd siren, it will get peoples attention better than a normal siren that you hear on everything.

No need! There is a siren mega pack on Modification universe called LEO/FIRE siren mega pack, when you download it, it will be under the whelen engineering folder, it will be titled Whelen CHP Modified Priority, if you want to hear it I have a showcase of it on my channel

The custom siren is still in use. I've been passed by a few chippies in Tahoes and they still are equipped with them. The siren in the video is a new addition that is being used by the chippies for when something happens requiring evacuation, like a brush fire or bomb threat.

It’s still in use currently however as new vehicles come it’ll slowly be replaced with the new system.

Same here accept with EMS and sheriff units

It's called Hi-Lo and it's been a siren selection on electronic sirens here in the U.S. for decades. It's just that American first responders don't typically use it --- probably because they don't want to be accused of copying Europeans.

If California became it's own country this would fit as a custom siren.

That two tone siren is primarily used in the uk, so its unusual to see Americans use it

It's not the epsilon, but it does have the same wail/yelp tone as the epsilon. They have a newer control panel instead, I think its the cencom core, but they switched to wecan so no more custom siren. CHP made a video of how they manage their fleet and it showed the car and inside. All newer whelen systems have the newer whelen wail/yelp. Via their software, there are 68 different tones you can choose from.
