New Van Racking | Milwaukee Packout Tools | Carpenters Van

Follow along with us as we re build our van racking 🙌🏼 This old a dingy racking was over 3 years old and just wasn't fit for purpose anymore. As you can see in the before pictures, we had an over flow of tools and the racking itself kept falling over as it wasn't secured well enough after a few years or wear and tear 🫡
This racking took me 3 days and I am so so glad I went to the effort of painting it black, routering in the shelfs and adding in the LED lights 🤜🏼
Now every tool has a space and it looks cool if I do say so myself 😎🔨

    Absolutely brilliant mate looks the part black aswel but that's a serious amount of moneys worth of tools to carry all the time I've got full rang of makita and although iam racked out I only carry the tools I need each day I couldn't cope with that lot going missing but brilliant vid mate👍

    Great job. However make sure you have adequate tool insurance as you’ve kinda just painted a big target 🎯 on your van and van break ins are unfortunately through the roof and the state don’t care. Good luck, love to see this kind of professionalism

    I'm planning on doing this in my own van and did think about painting it all black but thought it was a bit extra but after seeing how yours turned out I'm definitely doing it 😂 very nice job👍🏻

    Awesome video buddy coming from a fellow carpenter I'm a DeWalt man myself as we stick to what we start to build up or accumulate so that we have so many battery's that we can buy bare tools to save coin, but the black contrast with the black and red Milwaukee packouts is pukka. Lovely to see the dog in the vid and your Mrs sporting the company get up spot on set up looks the bizz from across the pond South Wales 👍👍

    I respect staying with one brand, always thought I'd go that way with Makita but realised Milwaukee just made some tools better so now I run both. Their batteries aren't that badly prices tbf

    Good vid, big tip for your tressel set up.. if you half lap 4x 4foot 3x2s to cross the 8foot lengths on your tressels. You can slot it together and use it as a sacrificial table. That’s what I do, it means you can cut an 8x4 sheet anywhere and not have to worry about the offcut falling or saw blade binding.

    Nah, the old set up for inefficient, was taking up for to much floor space, with this set up all I have to do is remove the pac out box’s and I have so much more space for transporting goods in the van. The van no has multi purpose 😆

  • @Dazza19746
    @Dazza197468 ай бұрын

    You’re gonna regret those boxes! I’ve made all the mistakes you don’t know you’ve made yet :( Mistake one, those boxes. Everything you need is always at bottom of stack.. there’s not really room in that type of van to pull out to middle and fart about. You should have bought All drawers, access anything easily, move nothing! ( you can modify a two drawer to a one drawer two) for big saws etc) Mistake two drawers, making a plywood shelving contraption that you’re now locked into. Your tool storage changes as you use it, and you don’t really know until you’re a couple of jobs in. ‘I wish I put this there or that here…’ You should have made just vertical upright ‘partitions’ and a method of fitting shelves ( or with the drawers you don’t even need shelves !). Ie. like 32 mm holes like in a kitchen, backed up with pocket screws or whatever, anything adjustable is the point. Personally I ripped all shelves out, bought the baseplate thing that screws to floor and and drawer unit can go anywhere, simply snaps in and stays or can be removed. All mainly packout width partitions, and one at front to suit a microwave built in mitersaw below Third issue that type of van, just too small eh? I’m still in that boat! Next one SLWB AND HIGH ROOF ! 👍🏻 Get the packout boxes on eBay while they’re in good nick and get all drawers 😂
