Well worth it when traveling altogether. When I travel alone or with one of my kids, ill just take the RTT

My biggest complaint with these SUVs is they all have captain seats. Being a 5 person family, do you miss having a bench seat?

There are times were I wish it had a bench seat in the second row so the trunk space is optimized. However, being able to lower one of the seats in the third row makes up for it as we are able to store our gear.

Thoughts on putting on of those roof top tents on a 2024 Subaru Forester Wilderness.

Those Subaru are great. It will handle the Inspired Overland RTT very well.

What about the luggage rack and bars on the top? Standard OEM ones? What is the capacity of the OEM parts? I’m always a bit concerned to put RRT on top of OEM rack/bars. Thanks.

Hi John. During the time of making this film, the OEM roof rack and crossbars is what I used on all my trips with the RTT on it. It held up well without any issues. I have now replaced the OEM roof rack with the No-Lo Designs Roof Rack. I posted a photo of it on my community page.

Can you have the A/c or heater running overnight? Or would the exhaust get too hot and possibly damage the tent being so close to it?

Good question. And yes, you can. On our last trip, I ran the heater all night with this same set up. The diesel heater was set up on the outside, hanging from the rear tire, and the exhaust is pointed away from the vehicle.

So HRG makes the following disclaimer: FOR OFF-ROAD USE ONLY. Is this just to make the lawyers happy? I assume you drive this vehicle on road as well.

I presume so. I do drive the vehicle on road everyday. It is my daily driver. I would guess they are just letting the consumer know what the lift kit is for.

Im a rookie so I was wondering what ladder do you recommend for accessing your rooftop tent

The ladder you see comes with the roof top tent. Some companies may oray not provide a ladder, but Inspired Overland does.

Have you found any options for more power? Engine modifications or tuning considering the additional weight.

@@BFAAdventures just purchased a 2025 trail sport. Not much out there from what I’ve seen, just the lift and some items for the ridgeline, but I doubt they would translate to the pilot

hey brother, why the Pilot vs a 4runner? Currently in the market for a new vehicle but having a difficult time deciding between both vehicles. Any insight from you is greatly appreciated.

The deciding factor for us was the third row seating. My kids are growing and we knew we were going to need more space. Secondly, unless you truly know you are going to be an extreme off-roadest, then The 4runner TRD Pro would be the better option. But if you aren't going to be on extreme off roads, then the Pilot Trailsport will get you to where you want to be.

Why did you ditch the trailer? You used to have the rooftop tent on top of the trailer.

Trailer was useful. Once we got back from our Canada trip, I inspected the rack system on the trailer and some of the brackets were cracked or completely broken off. So I knew it could not handle another trip with that heavy tent. Furthermore, I really didn’t want to drag that trailer on every trip. I feel like this set up would work better for us. We will see

If you notice in some of my other videos, sometimes I use a basket attached to the hitch, other times i squeeze what I can inside the vehicle.

Where did you align after the lift ?

@@BFAAdventures get a product called S-VCM or VCM tuner 2. Plug and play 5-10 min install. However, it is still not certain it works on the new engine. But it is important to have a device like this , if not you risk frying your engine later down the road

The 4Runner was an option and I did look into it. However, the TRD PRO does not have an optional third row seating. Additionally, this would be our everyday vehicle to commute, along with being able to carry additional family members when they visit. The 4Runner was just not going to cover our needs.

@westside8882 the suspension is said to be one of the best suspension for an all wheel drive system. Very soft and lots of travel. I do drive carefully just to make sure I’m not overdoing it or pushing too hard.
