The deep seated corruption was as a result of all the years under Russian rule!! After 100 years of being ruled by one of the most corrupt regimes on earth, it will take a long time to completely change the deep seated problems that Ukraine have. Bearing in mind that their previous President Yanukovych, who was extremely corrupt, was only deposed in 2013. They have actually made huge inroads into reducing corruption in the last 10 years and continue to do so despite the war they are in.

If Russia really wanted peace it shouldn't have started a war, and if it wants peace now it should just leave Ukraine. As for Ukraine, it has steadily reduced corruption over the past 2 decades and was already ranked less corrupt than Russia about a decade ago. Russia's ranking on the other hand has only stagnated over that same period. Facts do matter.

Talk is cheap, every leader around the western countries says the same thing. They will change the country in the right direction but do absolutely nothing but carry on with the same policies. Laughing at the previous party losing and taking the fall for policies that politicians think are the right thing to do. ( Economists are some the biggest problems society has ) Start thinking outside the box, try something new in a different direction. If idealistic policies haven’t been working for the previous 40 years. You can’t fail if you try something different. It can’t get any worse than it is now. Good luck with this guy! Once you hear moderation it means complacency, don't rock the boat, go with the flow, do nothing, don't stand out and on and on. It's like saying don't eat too much but no one gives the quantity of much or small for that matter.

Starmer got 9,712,011 votes and achieved a landslide victory. In 1997 Major got 9,591,085 votes and it was a catastrophic defeat. So don't imaging there is any great enthusiasm for Starmer or Labour.

We are burdened by the contradictions between the global, physical requirements for humanity to survive into the future, and the decision to back nation state private greed. We are also burdened by the fact that none of us can afford to buy back the product of our work. There is now too much competition, too much commerce, too much production. There is also the cost of competing to consider that causes the rate of profit to fall. Labour thinks it can out greed the kings of greed. They will excel at it, until we all realise we’ve been sent further into that spiral to hell. It isn’t going to end well. I’m 65 and I’ve watched another capable sounding bit of old flesh in a finely tailored suit imply that I’ll have to work even harder, and very likely receive less. There is no plan, because to plan anything requires the nationalisation of the commanding heights of the economy, democratic workers control and management, and a program of useful public works.
