Got mine yesterday, and I know you've heard this phrase countless times before, but I think this has to be KZ's best tuned set to date. Its very unlike what they've been known to do. And its perhaps the most detailed sounding IEM in this price range. I hope to see KZ release a higher end hybrid with this same driver and tuned using the same ideology.

@@spiritualrebelgaming the driver count doesn't matter, it's always about how well it's tuned and implemented. And all the more so at this budget price point where the more drivers often means worse performance overall. I personally prefer the D-Fi over the ZVX and every KZ before it though. It sounds like a much higher end set

That graph looks really good. The new technology sounds good. I heard a sound sample and it does sound cleaner than DQS noticeably. I was impressed how clean it sounded.

Budget and well tuned, it's really worth for value. good job

Wow, KZ back on track. Can't wait for my ZVX to arrive.

Overall a great budget choice for those who prefer a detailed sound signature.

I had a feeling this would be a good one. I mean it's a metal shell iem with a single DD. With tuning that more resembles a normal IEM rather then KZ's aggressive V shapes. I just hope the fit and comfort is good considering the shape.

ZVX, Hola, or Wan'er? I'm picking between these three for my first IEM. I listen to many kinds of music from orchestral to metal to edm. I like a balanced sound with a bit of bass but not too much treble. What's a good pick?

Love the Ling Long. Hate the microphonics. Have to listen to them while perfectly still. I wish they would just release that in a shell like this.

Certainly this will be harsher without dampeners..The wan’er is rather smooth.

Clarity in the mids is way above average for the price.

Yes. There is like the hbb budget set a dumping paper filter I the noozle behing the grill. Don't like that because of sweat. Within one year that filter is blocked . And muffled the bass fast response. Then there is other way. Behing the dd driver, there is a filter sticker to change the tuning. That's an ok method. But it can make the drivers react slower, then there is the sponge filter inside the nozzle like Sony uses. They tune a higher frequency, and then the filter will tame down things. Then there is a crossover or just capacitors that change the tuning, letting the driver breathe. Best choice. If sound has to high picks, I can have a filter inside. With the paper filter. You can't do anything. Apart from changing the total filter, if you can find it. And this system belongs to all iem above price set and speakers. No patent for that already there before..I check their site. There is no capacitors in this iem. Bo crossover too.

Spec is 25Ω 109dB sensitivity, this is not hard to drive at all. PR1 Pro is 100dB sensitivity to compare, this means this needs almost 1/10th the power to get to the same volume as the PR1 Pro. PR1 Pro is hard to drive, for a KZ, because it's a planar. In general, any KZ that is NOT a planar, they tend to be quite easy to drive.

KZ iems can get very loud quite easily. I'm not sure about their planars though

Side grade, not up grade. Add to your collection if you are into that kinda thing.

They should've used this new method to tuck the low mids back a touch...

I am really surprised when you say that KZ patented something new in the passive filtering domain. The first capacitor was built in 1746, first inductors came in 1850, their properties where fully known in 1890, and the math behind the process where theorized by guys like Bessel, Butterworth, Tchebyscheff....well, Bessel did it circa 1820, so its hardly something new.

What I don't get. Many reviewers don't like Hz. But why

I'm scared of the peak, is that part there harsh?

That worries me too. There’s something about KZ’s 8k peak that stabs at your ear compared to that same peak from other IEMs.

If it's that high with foam tips it will be death with silicone.

@@roadtonever the thing is that kz doesn't have to tune 8k as high as they do. They do it because i guess most people prefer that. Providing foam tips seems like a solution to their own problem. Maybe they should simply tone down that peak.

Adding dampers solves it if anybody cares. But it'll affect the whole. Or just use EQ. And TIPS! Not forgetting tips.

The S12 has no dampers either.

WRONG. There is a tuning filter just like in all other budget single DD iems
