The High Five Choir at New Trier High School features students of all abilities who come together through music to build long standing friendships, raise disability awareness, and serve as agents of change for the school and community. This chorus is comprised of an inspiring group of students and teachers.
For the most recent concert, the choir's director appealed to the school community to dance to Pharrell's "Happy" in order to create a montage to get the kids...and audience...psyched up. In essence, she asked the school to open for the High Five Choir. The response was overwhelming. Students, teachers, cafeteria staff, paraprofessionals, and administrators volunteered to be a part of the video. Their eagerness to participate shows just how important the High Five Choir is to the school, and what an impact these students have had.
I was so moved by the phenomenal support and love showed by the school community that I just had to post this. Please share...The work these students and teachers do should be recognized and choirs like this should be in every school!
