I hear you on the gas prices! It honestly depends on how far and fast you like to travel. We live full-time in a 42 foot fifth wheel and tow it with a Chevy 3500 dually truck. We average 9 miles to the gallon towing. The key for us to to stay in each location longer versus jetting across the country. Lots of ways to save money too. For example, right now, we are traveling around Florida and, on average, spend $400-$500 per month on diesel. Gas is, of course, cheaper than diesel, and you don't need a diesel truck to pull a travel trailer. I hope this helps!
