1. Hey um ik this isn't a hermit crab video but did I make a mistake by getting a printed she'll?.. 2. I've had him for 2-3 months 3. I got him a new home last week I think it's a 6 inch and I think he's about a 2-3 inches 4. Oh and his name is Jones and I love him soo much ❤🦀 5. and last question I watched on a video that it was bad to feed a hermit crab hermit crab food and that I should be feeding him vegetables? I'm only temporarily caring for a tortoise I rescued from Petco (she was abandoned by someone at the store, i felt bad that she didn't have any lighting or leafy greens) about a month ago but I still love watching these videos

Oh my gosh! I needed this video! Thank you SO MUCH!!! I’m currently on bed rest 😢 I can’t play with my reptiles 😢 So this made my day! The ending was so precious 🥰 My kids got me my dream snake for my Birthday, a Blue-Eyed Lucy! I named her Lucy, totally corney I know lol 😂 but she’s so precious and goofy, does everything a Ball Python normally doesn’t, Lucy seemed perfect 🤩 Thanks again for posted today! Lori’s Hartland Yes i recently bought turtle fix solution to add to his bath when I give him a soak and that has been helping a lot! I think the humidity was fine but he does spend a lot of time in his water bowl in his enclosure so maybe that could also have something to do with it?

Do you no longer put the xl garbage bag at the bottom to keep the moisture from getting into the wood? Can someone tell me if it's best to do that?

ive read reviews of the repti bark having mites. Have you had any issues with mites in the repti bark?

Hey so I got a pacman frog about a month ago and he was eating. But randomly he stopped and I don't know why and don't know how to get him to eat again it's almost been a week since he last ate. The only thing I changed was his coconut fiber cause the old coconut fiber smelt really bad.

Do you know of any good resources for safe plants for hermit crabs? I'm growing chia seeds in their tank right now and I want to give them more things to explore because it seems like they're getting bored. I've switched up the decor. It seems like plants are a debated thing even on places like the hermit crab association.

Go onto the hermit crab reddit. They have two compiled lists- their care needs and safe foods for them. If it's not on there then ask in a post and people will typically answer you. Chia seeds are really the only plants you should grow INSIDE the tank unless you have an uber large crazy tank because most smaller gallon tanks wont allow for proper drainage when you water the tank and can cause flooding. It's a really hard thing to do right in tanks. You can grow lots of things OUTSIDE and give it to them to eat however 😊😊😊

Brumation is good for them, they will sleep all day and not come out, I leave the light on it’s normal schedule and soak blue 2x a week to keep him hydrated through the brumation.

Ok so I'm sorry if I am being a bother, but I want to make sure I do all of the proper research for tortoises. So if you answer even just one of these questions that would be a great help! Some Questions: 1. I know you said you soak Blue 2-3 times a week but how many times a week should you soak baby tortoises and for how long (Minutes? Hours?)? 2. Do you use both UVB or UVA, both or neither, for light/heat bulbs? 3. How much water (The height) do you use for soaking tortoises? 4. I thought you were supposed to completely clean tortoise enclosures once every month or should you just spot clean like you said? 5. How often do you give tortoises calcium for their shells (I believe it is once a month but I may be extremely wrong so I decided to ask)? That's it. Sorry if I wasted your time with these questions, but even thought some of them might seem stupid I just want to make sure I am as educated as possible. Great video by the way, it was very factual and fun to watch!

If anyone else sees this feel free to correct me but from my research this is what I have found 1. Baby’s under a year can be soaked daily for 15-30 min with warm but not hot water just under the head. After they reach a year 3 times a week for like 30min to a hour and adults can go 1-3 times also for 30 to a hour, daily is fine even if it is a adult. 2. You *NEED* UVB and a heat bulb I’ve heard of people using both but I believe only using uvb is fine. Just pleaseeee use uvb. 3. Up to you, some people deep clean monthly, some twice a year, some once. Just personal preference. Spot clean when you can. 4. Up to 5 years old can do every other day with a light sprinkle. 10+ 1-3 times a week. There *is* such thing as too much calcium, just try to feed a high calcium and fiber diet. And offer cuttlebone especially for growing tortoise if they hit a growth spurt. Just remember there isn’t just one way to raise tortoises and find what works for you ( within reason of course ) and two good sources I have are the tortoise table and tortoise forms. Good luck and try not to stress too much!

It’s getting close to brumation season, keep his environment the same, let his light come on and soak him every other day. He may sleep for a few weeks but he should be active and eating eventually. If he’s sick, dehydrated or his basking spot is not warm enough- it can cause lethargy.

I haven’t had any bugs that I have seen, from time to time I may see some here and there in Koas tank tho, they are drawn to moisture but they are harmless. I’ve never had anything harmful like mites or whatever, I’ve never seen those ever.

Like all other animals, your tortoise needs access to water 24/7 in a water bowl. Maybe you tried previously and your water dish was too tall for her to get into? You should mist her enclosure even though you think she doesn't like it, I can tell you she 100% does. Mist the top, move it around and mist some more, so it gets into all the layers, especially important if she's young because they love to dig themselves down to get moisture from there, that's what they do in the wild. Tortoises need the humidity for proper growth, hydration and it helps their shells form naturally without pyramiding. Keep one side a bit dryer than the other, but this usually fixes itself around your basking spot lamp. A bit late, but I hope this helped :)
