People are already weary for a gacha mobile game, but adding a male protagonist to what is considered a Yuri game franchise would kill that game even faster. Many fans would not even play that abomination...

I like how the Xanadu series has such a consistent release schedule. Xanadu in 1985, The Legend of Xanadu II in 1995, Xanadu Next in 2005, Tokyo Xanadu in 2015, and now Tokyo Xanadu New in 2025. Looking forward to what the Xanadu games in 2035 and 2045 will be!

Completely agree here!!!! While I love Tokyo Xanadu to bits and I really, really, really want a next Tokyo game, I would NOT play any gacha mobile garbage. It would be a HUGE disappointment for me if the game went mobile!

Nothing I’ve heard would suggest it being mobile. Sounds like will be set in Kyoto and likely made with the new engine as they stated they are building everything from the ground up. Does Falcom do in house mobile games? As far as I’m aware they outsource license for those titles 🤔

Tokyo Xanadu seemed like a decent game that could be great if given a bit more focus. so i'm hoping the new one will be amazing.

Heh - I recognized the music in this video. But Blue Reflection 3? I am afraid making a gacha mobile and (biggest mistake) adding a male protagonist was a close to a death sentence for the franchise. Even if there would be a Blue reflection 3 (what I really hope), there is a big chance they add in a male protagonist in that game also. Needless to say I won't even touch that game if that would be the case...

Tokyo Xanadu’s official web page uses the endpoint “txk”. After hearing about it being set in Kyoto, I wonder if it’ll be called Tokyo Xanadu: Kyoto or something similar.

We are getting to the age where people we grew up enjoying the art of are passing. It’s never not sad. But this is when people they have influenced should get in, and make their mark because not doing so would be even sadder

It was awesome to hear there might be a 3rd AI Somnium files game. Those are some of the best experiences I've had.

I am BEYOND HYPED to re-play the *original Monster Hunter Stories* this June! What makes this entry a MILLION TIMES BETTER than its sequel (Monster Hunter Stories 2) is that the original had *Monstie element change* that allows you to FULLY *change/customize* your Monstie's elemental/Kinship attacks while also giving them a nice color change when you change their base element! THIS feature was SO AWESOME and made me play that game for so long because it was SO FUN having a different element Monstie like a *Fire Zinogre, Dragon Nargacuga, etc...* (while Capcom STUPIDLY *removed this feature + elemental page from MHS2,* thereby severely reducing the re-playability/stratigizing aspect of that game). Anyways, can't wait for MHS1! :D

I'm really happy to hear a sequel to Tokyo Xanadu is coming! I found that I was able to enjoy the original (ex+) more than Hajimari for instance, feels like Falcom is more free to do new things with games like Ys and Xanadu.

Correction those that downloaded stellar blade early could access the game and play for about 2 hrs. I was one of them

Grandia collection! i almost spent 80 bucks once on the switch physical edition from limited funds games. I'm never buying from them again. someone got to it before me at my local retro store and thank goodness. i do love my physicals but I have plenty already and I can't justify anymore when the prices are absurd.

It's been available in Play Asia for a long time. I got it for $50 in 2021. A lot of the physical releases have better pricing through Play Asia.

My biggest hope outside of an expanded combat system for the Tokyo Xanadu sequel is if the old cast comes back I hope they do so with full redesigns. I may be the only one who feels this way but when time passes/new journeys begin I like my characters to reflect that as well. Good news, bad news roundup this month. Happy to hear about Atelier heading back to console, Tokyo Xanadu, Grandia and a date for Kuro. Sad to hear of several passings in the Jrpg community. Disappointed Neptunia rebirth not coming to ps4 as I would’ve liked them to be more accessible since my pc is really out of date and now in storage. Was kind of expecting more out of Falcom for their anniversary this month but now will look towards June for Trails anniversary.

It should also be mentioned that they arent selling Episode Aegis alone. If you want to play The Answer portion of Reload youre gonna have to pay 35 bucks for it which is honestly absurd. I couldnt give 2 shits about costumes so having to pay 35 bucks for something that was built onto P3 FES is unacceptable

I expected that to be honest, Atlus are known for this kind of stuff. Even SMT V Vengeance feels like a kick in the teeth in some respects.

This has been the best month of strat RPGs in a while. Unicorn Overlord was fantastic and Code name Bakery which recently released is also fricken great. It has such a unique tactic's system where gadgets,cover,stealth and general tactics are all used constantly. It's like playing metal gear solid the tactics game. Plus it has pretty unique darker story that is fully voiced except some lines in the mission explaining things while fighting. I also am insanely impressed with the little in game action cut scene sequences that go so hard for a weird chibi art style haha. So if you saw its negative ratings on steam, know that it was a campaign to down vote it due to some Chinese drama of some sort. The actual game is some of the most fun I had with a tactics like Unicorn overlord but in a completely different way.

When that transition came in and I saw Xenosaga I got super excited, only to be immediately disappointed that it was just a music collab..

The first Grandia is such a gem of a game They should release the HD to PC as well

Dare to dream that will get some modern release/remaster of the Lunar games on modern hardware. Maybe update graphics but leave the rest alone.

When I saw Final Fantasy IX in the title, I was honestly expecting something about the animated series for it they mentioned once. But since they've never mentioned it since, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised it was different. A remake still sounds cool if it comes to anything but I think the original holds up perfectly well.

I still don't understand why they localise it as "Ever Darkness".

I just finished unicorn overlord last week and it was quite a journey i didn't expect it to be this good as for MH stories i heard that japan will release just the 1st game with english and its cheaper i will probably just get that one

First of all - A new Tokyo Xanadu game is wonderful news! I did not recognized the character portrayed, so I guess the game is with a whole new crew? I would feel a bit sad about that, because I liked Kou & The Crew. But good news nevertheless. I am a bit shocked about the poor port of Ys, and really hope this will be a LOT better for Trails through Daybreak on the PC. As I understood Durante is working on that version, but I am not sure about that. I keep my fingers crossed for that PC release though... And the second news that a REAL PC/Console Atelier game is in the make is fantastic news, and really gives me a BIG sigh of relief. I hope none of the gacha stuff will ported to that single player game though. But maybe Resleriana has made me a bit too weary. The Resleriana game does not do very well on Steam though. At best it gets a mixed (53% positive) rate there. And as a side news - The (also gacha mobile garbage) Blue Reflection Sun is shutting down the servers coming April. I really hope this franchise is not ruined by making it a gacha mobile game and (far more worst) by adding that stupid male protagonist in what is considered by fans to be at least semi-Yuri, if not a full Yuri title, game franchise. I have no high hopes, but you never know...

its a Shame about the harvestella producer Leaving i love that game but it doesnt really mean Harvestella isnt getting sequels dlc etc what it means is that it still has a chance but slightly lowered chance of it happening but it still might happen but rather than Square Which is the Publisher of the game not the ones who made the game thats LiveWire who made harvestella the producer is the one that left its either 2 things either LiveWire Finds a New Producer for Harvestella or the one that Left makes a New Studio to pick it up again

The FF9 thing is almost certainly just a weird misinterpretation from journalists who don't actually play the game. At FanFest a few months back they showed off a new zone coming in Dawntrail which bears the same name as one of Zidane's trance abilities in FF9 and the community has been speculating based on that as well as some details spotted in screenshots of the zone that the FF14 story for the new expansion may actually draw heavily on events from the 2nd half of FF9 for its story. The "secret" is the fact he's not telling us what the story reasons are for the FF9 references in the new expansion. A couple journalists who (as far as I could tell) have never actually played FF14 jumped on it and started speculating that he was teasing us over the FF9 Remake rumours instead.

I disagree. When you watch that section of the stream, you see the crowd react because everyone is aware of the rumours. Yoshi P then sheepishly refers to the FF9 specific bonuses, and calls their involvement a secret. He knows something is going on in the background, but can't say anything at present.

I feel like the crowd reacted because they're aware of the FF9 references coming in Dawntrail and FF9 just happens to be a fan favourite in the series? Honestly, I'm not saying that a remake isn't happening. There's a lot of weight to those rumours, and as a board member YoshiP would definitely know about other projects in development. But in this case I think Occams Razor tells us that it's more likely to just be a reference to the story theorycrafting that the community has been doing since Fanfest Tokyo in January.

I am excited for the new TX project. I will also play more Ys this year and I still need to finish Harvestella. I am very excited for Daybreak though. I hope Crimson Sin gets announced soon after we get Daybreak. The we will be closer to Japans release. I love JRPGs.
