I finally see why, on my synth, why a square wave is louder than a sine or triangle. :)
Your trace rotation needs a tweek, the trace is very slightly skewed. Is it not a good idea when setting the zero volts position to press the GND button to avoid any stray voltage from the probe and it's lead. Thirdly I find it's more accurate to measure period by seeing where the trace the crosses the horizontal axis and counting to the next up or down crossing of that same axis. This is a little less prone to positioning error than trying to locate the centre of the curved top of a sine wave. But good video and explanation and always good to see an old-school scope in action.
