    wait you've pre-ordered my dog?! Hahaha only joking mate, that's great news. Yeah I watched Cruorangelussilicis's build of the previous model and it looked like a pain. Really put me off. This one goes together as easy as a Sicaran. I'd recommend you check out my build guide and magnetisation vids too, if you haven't already, they're pretty useful. Also if you have any questions when you're building just ask.

    It's worth mentioning that you should drill the base hole BEHIND the intake in the solid bit and not the hollow bit. The rod placement will stop it tipping but putting it through the hollow could be a problem in terms of cracking.

    Doggo! Thunderhawk is nice too. The changes they've made to the model are subtle but all welcome. I'd love one just for the fun of building it, I don't know if I'd ever put it on the table, let alone balance it up on a flying stand... Now the question is: if you had to choose one would you go with a Thunderhawk, Mastodon, Warhound or Porphyrion?

    the marauder bomber should get the same kind of update .. nice kit but a pig to put together and you have to scratchbuild your own cockpit glass ( i actually enjoy a kit you have to wrestle with personally because im abit of a sadist lol ) but most people would probally like somthing abit more forgiving personally dosent bother me though as in my view these large resin kits are more for the experienced modeller anyway but im not against them getting a nice overhaul at all. Also - review of the dog please we need to know how many goodest boys out of 10 this dog is

    The original Thunderhawk Gunship was made of metal and was released some time in 1997 I think, so about 20 years ago. It has a lot more "wow factor" than this 3rd version as it was made in the days before Forge World. The original price tag was £400, they change hands on places like ebay for a lot more than that, and make this version seem very reasonably priced indeed...

    Ooh awesome question alert. I'd say the Sicaran tank is a good starting point. It's not too expensive, has a decent amount of parts to practice washing, clipping gates off, sawing, cutting and filing. It goes together well and you can practice your magnetising with the side sponsons. The only downside is the instructions aren't the best. It is also a decent looking tank and has some fantastic rules. If you like dreadnoughts then I'd recommend the Leviathan dreadnought as the instruction guide is great but the arms and getting the pose right are a little tricky. Hope that helps.

    It's certainly a great looking model for collectors. But for people who want to use it in games it would have been better in plastic. Not just because of the cost ( it is damn pricey though ), but also because of the problem of carrying such a heavy thing around ( the same sort of problem as you'd have with the Warlord / Reaver titan. it would be ok for the occasional special game I suppose. But it is a splendid collectors piece !

    Looks like a lovely model in terms of the quality and details but I've never been a big fan of the 'flying dumpster' aesthetic of most space marine flyers. The Corvus Blackstar is one of the few marine flyers that is genuinely cool looking in terms of basic shape (which is quite important). Not that they could have done this model any better. People would not have been happy if they'd re-designed the Thunderhawk ;) GW released an all metal Thunderhawk ages ago(1997). Only 400(?) were produced and they cost £400 (or 40000 penny's-see what they did there? ;D).

    I was going to buy one of these as my first model but it's literally more expensive than FIVE BANEBLADES, 900$ US. Absolutely insane, everything else the same size is about 170$, knights and super heavies of every kind. It is more expensive than a warhound titan and no where near the same on the board, I don't understand! Is it just because it's built five times as solid as a kit that builds every bloody baneblade?? It only has two weapon options!

  • @Sup3rSaiy3n

    @Sup3rSaiy3n

    11 ай бұрын

    Everything else the same size?? You havent mentioned anything the same size in resin. Have you looked at the Stormbird by any chance? Its only a bit bigger but more than double the price. Knights are not the same size and they are also built in plastic and contain fewer parts. A warhound is only £50 cheaper BUT came out in 2005 and includes way fewer parts AND they are of less detail. Its also not fun to build. This Thunderhawk was released in 2017 and is one of the best resin kits to build. It originally cost £450 but that was 6 years ago.

  • @Sup3rSaiy3n

    @Sup3rSaiy3n

    11 ай бұрын

    @@BeKindToBirds It’s a more expensive material capable of higher detail. The parts are hand made in moulds instead of mass produced in injection moulds like plastic. You can punch out a sprue or sprues relatively quickly but not resin parts. Overall its a more costly process which is reflected in FW model prices (GW created and own FW btw). They originally made niche products in the early 2000s which GW could not justify making plastic moulds or metal for. Hopefully you learned something and enjoy the rest of my videos.

    @@Sup3rSaiy3n I have. It certainly seems like you believe strongly that it is a fair price for what it is. I have a lot to learn about the difference between resin and the other models. My initial reaction was in how grossly different the stats in game and the price tag were and then I looked at all the other similar sized models. It never occurred to me that it was of a different kind of material and of a higher quality production. I did see a really beautifully painted titan or knight that I'm guessing was also made of resin given the amount of time he put into that paint job. He treated it like a fine art. I guess I'm mistaking handmade canvas with school notebook paper and showing my ignorance.
