Favourite feature is the global illumination - genuinely dark Dark Rides!!!

One of my favorite features so far is the ability to scale and recolor items.

I have been playing this for a bit, I saw the global illumination and immediately purchased the game. It's fun to play around with already, even though there's not much to do yet. The resizing feature is super cool and allows us to create really wild set pieces (I resized a small tree stump into a giant one, and then normal lanterns into tiny lanterns and scattered small boxes around to look like houses, took a page out of the ol' Planco book and used random pieces rotated to accent the houses and painted some bushes around it, and it honestly looks like a very convincing fantasy tree colony while passing by on a coaster, this game fuels creativity for sure, if I could build a bunch miniature sets to tell a complete story about a whole fantasy village, and it's all just for an epic roller coaster at a theme park, where there's other roller coasters with awesome sets to tell other stories, that's super cool) But, I will say, the game also looks super ambitious. I'm already getting a lot of frame drops after only building a small room with one coaster element, that one cool scenery piece, and some lighting. . . So thinking of what my frames will be like with multiple sets and multiple rides, and people walking around, and moving flat rides, and management numbers being calculated and building requirements, etc.. . . If they pull it off it'll be revolutionary for gaming and I will rarely leave my computer. . . But it does seem extremely ambitious, because I have one room with 0 simulation happening and a relatively small set piece and the engine can barely handle it. (3060 and 32GB ram)

Performance currently is a little bugged, I had to release the game with a few known issues that are constantly getting improved and will be entirely fixed in the next update. My goal is for the game to run at a constant 60fps on Epic on my own machine, since I want to get the best experience to play myself.

Would be interesting if this alpha already is easier than No Limits 2 in terms of the coaster building... If it's basically (or will be) a game with the possibilities in terms of building coasters which you have in No Limits 2 compared with the relatively simple building tool from Planet Coaster.

well i haven´t really gotten into NL2 to this day - so the answer is ALREADY yes. NL 2 is insanely complex. Which makes it great for 0.023% of people enjoying coasters.

I tried building a coaster but it's so easy to accidentally exit build mode if you don't click the nodes just right. I was going to try to build a full coaster like this but I got so frustrated lol I'm sure it'll get better since it's just early access right now. I hope they add heart lining and a smooth feature.

@@RudiRennkamel nolimits2 can be hard but it’s just different and once you get used to it it’s better but I actually like the new builder

I was a huge fan of Roller-coaster Tycoon having played all 3 including the add-ons, I even got into modding Tycoon back in the early 2000's absolutely having a blast in sand box. After a minor dispute with IGN I stopped posting my mods and a short time later lost interest in coasters moving on to other games. This looks great and at first glance is already rekindling my interest and creativity. Thanks for sharing.

oh yes rollercoaster tycoon. I downloaded rct3 off steam and got my parents old computer I used to play on (edit: to try to get my parks back).... all my custom scenery and CTRs were there but not a single park file. soul crushing. idk where they went

It's a flex yes but then again it's only a texture for now as there's no pathfinding involved

I’m so excited for the lighting more than anything!

I still need to figure out the coaster maker, I can do NL2 and PlanCo no problem, this i was like... um... lol But overall beautiful game and excited to see how it turns out.

btw there is a duplicate with control+d, it duplicates it right in the same spot so you have to move it to see that it actually duplicated

Would (if it ever comes with an update) indoor places really work in this game? Does light not go through walls/roofs like in planet Coaster? Finally true darkrides without having to make it nighttime

Great work from the devs, spline based coaster systems in Unreal are a pain in the ass to get smooth... nailed the spline tangent inversion issue tho from what I can tell.

Thanks, although the inversion issue hasn't been fixed yet, the spline still twists weirdly but we're investigating ways to imrpove it... Also smoothness is not entirely perfect and there's a little bit of Tinterp happening to help it feel smooth

@azaelue5 give me a message and I'll see what I can do to help. My system has working inversions. Smoothing is a little rough at points but I know how to fix that, I just don't have a reason to since I created a nolimits2 import system.

the light system in this game is 100% better than planet coaster

It took you 4 hours to build a single "okay-ish" coaster and you still say its beginner friendly? I wouldn't say that.

It is easier than NL2, maybe a little more complicated than Planco, but the issue is probably the few bugs that slow the building process down

Those are some of the ugliest graphics I have ever seen😯I mean is like the dollar store version of PC 1. Dude most be really desperate for a new theme park game if he can even spend 10 minutes playing this, it is visually a non started.

I guess you are wearing some dirty glasses. You may wanna clean them and watch again :P Apart from the dull environments (which is normal for an alpha) this looks so good. Especially the lighting.
