There is a specific rule that states if a rule says it happens at the end of the command phase, it instead happens after the battleshock step - see "Rules Used at the end of the Command Phase". So reanimation happens after battleshock tests

Mitosis is all somatic cells (non sex cells), both animal and plant (and also bacteria). Meiosis is sex cells (sperm, egg). Energy production you're probably thinking of is photosynthesis.

Bacteria don't undergo mitosis; binary fission. Essentially the same outcome but different process due to their different genetic structures

He's always forgetting that the drones of the breachers can shoot a looot of shots + cadre's drones (with their critical -3 AP) XD

Had my first run in against hypercrypt necrons with c’tans the other day while playing tau. Lost by 3 points at 64 me 67 him. Forgot to score teleport homer turn 1 with my pirahna or it would’ve been tied at 67 67. But c’tan really put the fear of god in me after that. Took 4 turns of me underestimating how much firepower it would take to kill one until finally I overwatched it with broadsides in kauyon and got a magical 2 6s sustained to 4 hits with the rail rifle, 2 dev wounds and 1 failed save later I did 3 damage after half damage and fnp killing the c’tan exactly. Truly epic

also they did rebase wraiths on 50mms. makes them more stable but harder to keep coherency

3 ctan list and then not even knowing the name of one of them. Ya that about sums up the tournament scene

Excellent battle report. The necrons primary scoring mid game was just too much. I think this showed what the lack of CIBs (not necessary on a crisis brick) means for the raw tau firepower. Being able to overcharge for an important turn (even for units that only used half CIB) was crucial. Sunforges are an excellent unit but fills a different tank/monster busting role which we saw against the c'tan but Tau have taken a hit mid board multiple wound infantry killing. Honestly I think the existing crisis suits can't fill that role and it may be the slower missilesides under Mont'ka that provide an answer. Not as good as old crisis suits but good enough to allow tau to compete. Looking forward to seeing how you change the tau force for later games.

Question in regards to how you play your terrain (I can't quite tell from the videos). My group will be switching to the suggested standard layouts like you guys use with specific footprint sizes. Do you guys count the whole footprint as being LOS blocking or just the actual wall of the terrain piece itself that is on the footprint ?

both are modifiers. general core rule: first multiply/divide then add/subtract. (there is an exception. If the +dmg is on the weapon profile. so lets say a d6+1 weapon. Then that does fully divide in the end. This is clearified in the rules commentary.)

This section details how to apply modifiers in your games. In all cases: 1. All modifiers are cumulative. 2. If a rule instructs you to change or replace one characteristic with a specified value, change the relevant characteristic to the new value before applying any modifiers that apply from other rules (if any) to the new value. 3. You must then apply division modifiers before applying multiplication modifiers, before applying addition and then subtraction modifiers. 4. Round any fractions up after applying all modifiers. Roll damage for the weapon, halve that from Necrodermis, then apply Melta bonus. Division before addition ps. Note this also means that any ability that sets damage to 0 still suffers Melta damage

The rules I have say "One other model from the same unit (in units of 2-6 models) | Two other models fromthe same units (in units of 7+ models)". Did they change this since release or are you miing it up with 9th Edition?

Battle shock step is at the start of the command phase, reanimation protocols is at the end of the command phase.

@@MrStuffedowl ahh yeah, it's the state of battle shock that clears automatically at the start of the command phase, then appropriate checks on units that need to roll for it during the battle shock step. Reanimation protocols activate at the end of your command phase which means battle shock tests happen before reanimation protocols occurs.

I think reanimation happens before battle shock as rule book states "at the start of tour command phase before doing anything else, both players gain 1cp. Then if you have any other rules that need to be resolved in the command phase, you do so now before progressing the the battle-shock step. Necron reanimation protocol is "if your army faction is necrons, at the end of your command phase, each unit from your army with this ability that is on the battlefield activates its reanimation protocols." Even though it says at the end of your command phase it is still activated in the command phase and command phase says to do any activations before going to battle shock step.

I lived outside of detroit for about 5-6 years. I stand by that Detroit style pizza (which is similar to a sicilian "grandma pie" style pizza) is in fact, not a pizza. It is an open-faced sandwich, with the flavors of pizza. This is due to the nature of it's crust being particularly bready, as well as the sauce and cheese acting more like condiments on an open faced sandwich than like pizza toppings- there is enough sauce that it will squirt, and the cheese is mostly a blanket to keep things in, than a topping that other toppings nestle into nicely.

Gw owes Titans a lot more than just some free models for all the money they've made because of the titans. Brian, bridge and Adrian brought thousands of people to the game during covid for nothing. So GW sends you all the codex and launch box for free. And you then play with 90% 3d printed varients ?

@KylarTStern Them looking better is a subject of opinion. I just believe it's in bad form to use 3d printed models when that is the primary way GW loses money. Especially when you are getting support from the company itself.
