NEW TABLE for Craftsman 10“ RADIAL ARM SAW”

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I bought this craftsman 10” radial arm saw at an auction for 15$ and it needed a new table. So I built an easy table and showed you how I did it.

Thanks. This helps a lot. Got a craftsman radial 100 from a friends dad and the table was all rotted when I got it. Now I have a garage and wanted to replace the table. Thanks

Very well done. Short and to the point. I enjoyed the fact that you didn't try to behave like you had just invented something totally new. This is almost the same way that I made my last 2 tables. Great video.👍

these saws are the most versatile tool you will ever own. once trued the radial saw outshines a table saw. there is no comparison!

I love my ras, but when ripping wood my table saw has it beat by a country mile, especially when making larger panels.

Nice video, concise. Extension is done well. The only issue is that the saw extends too far forward to the front edge. As a dad and grandpa I shudder to think of a preschool child teaching up and getting a hand cut off. I make my tables 24 inches instead of 18.

Hi JB, Nice concise video! This spring I will be making a table for the Radial arm saw I purchased for the re-vamp of my shop. I have a Dewalt contractor saw that does not accept a dado stack, so I plan to keep one on the radial arm saw. Nice stout table too!

I just bought a nice bright silver top (1993 ish ?) Craftsman 3hp Radial arm saw in excellent condition for $40. No base or table, though it does have a good blade. It's wired for 220v, but I'm just going to run a dedicated line to it, anyway. I had a Craftsman metal base, but is not as deep so i made some metal brackets and it's good now. I have to wait until the first of the month to buy the wood for the table. Thanks for this video !

I have had one of those saws since the late 1970's - it has always been my primary stationary power tool. For the front table though, ignore the front table depth in the manual: it is not deep enough. When the carriage is pulled all the way to the stop, the entire blade and blade guard MUST be BEHIND the front edge of the table! Also, I make my table wider and overhang it on the left. The goal is to place the crosscut kerf in the center of the total width of the table. It just seems to feel better that way. And it provides more support for long boards.

I like it. I need to make a new table for my Craftsman RAS. What width did you cut it to? I was taking some measurements and figured: about 41 inches wide would give me enough room to do miters on the left but I wonder if the table would start sagging on me again. My current table is useless for ripping right now for that reason.

I was lucky enough to have a vintage sears craftsman radial arm saw given to me. I believe it was made in 1963 model 113.29401. Everything works great..except when unlock the arm and swing the arm out (any direction) I can’t stop and lock it to any angle…except the 45deg positive stops. The knob in front of the arm turns hard..so I’m assuming the arm needs a good cleaning. On my saw there is a notch cut out in the bottom of the table to allow the crank handle to turn. If the notch wasn’t cut out the handle would hit the bottom of the table. Did you have to cut a notch in your saw?

  • @Jared-Brubaker
