New Suzuki EECO Van Review - Is this the new, lovable "Half Loaf"?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Suzuki has built twelve, yes, twelve, generations of the Carry, affectionately known as the "Half Loaf". It's been so successful for the company, particularly in third world markets, that countries such as India built the seventh generation for 25 years straight.
It's a timeless design and in this video, Ciro De Siena was delighted to finally drive one, alongside the brand new Carry, or as it is being sold in South Africa, the EECO Van.
Driving the two cars back-to-back was particularly illuminating and in some ways, the original from 1989 had the newcomer bested.
And so, Ciro set out to answer the question, should you buy a Suzuki EECO Van? And can the new generation ever be as lovable as it's predecessor?
We'd love to know your thoughts and we hope you'll join us in the comments section.

Welcome back Sir, missed that intro "Hello"😂
Ciro is back!!!! So happy to see you back. Jacob and Ash did a great job with the reviews over the past few weeks but its so great to see you back 😄. I saw a snippit of Mpho really enjoying this little Eeco there 😅. Your'll are such a great team and the best motoring channel in my opinion.
Welcome back Ciro We missed you 😊😅❤ Ashley did a fantastic job.
We missed you man , Welcome back Ciro….
This is the best car review I've ever watched. The review is epic because the car has all the hallmarks of a legend.
What a Vantastic review! 😜

I see what you did there 😢
Man I missed Ciro's reviews 😅. Welcome Back ❤
These look amazing and this review captures the spirit of these vehicles quite well 😂 suzuki just knows how to make simple cars that'll put a smile on your face. I bought super carry as my main mode of transport as I wanted a bakkie that was also rear wheel drive and it didn't disappoint 😂 hands down the most fun vehicle I have driven. My commute was 75km every single day driving on the N1 at 120km/h most of the time (more like 110km/h actual speed) and it returned an average of about 7.5l/100 on average. The lowest I've ever seen the fuel consumption was 6.8l/100km while using the ouma technique. The super carry does have the G12B motor which is different to the eeco and the eeco should most certainly be slightly more fuel efficient but I don't think it'll get much better than 6.5l/100km if driven properly 🤔
Really nice to see you again, mate😊
Welcome back Sir Ciro, good to see you back in circulation, hope you enjoyed your leave. On the EECO, im surprised it has stability control, that is some fancy tech for a cargo van. But its kind of needed as its light, high of the ground and has skinny tyres. Also surprised is has the k12 engine, in other markets the commercial vehicles either get the K15 or M16A, but hey, its a step up from the old Alto engine. Also love the fact they just ripped the centre dash from the Spresso.
Welcome back! Love your reviews! Greetings from Amsterdam
Good to see Ciro back. 🎉🎉
GLAD TO SEE YOU BACK ON THE SCREEN!!!!!!!
I'm so glad you guys did a review on the Eeco. I've been quietly obsessing over it ever since I recently saw it on the road. I want one, not for commercial reasons, but as more of a lifestyle van. I was wondering about the interior, but it appears to be more or less what I expected. Now seriously considering buying one! Thanks for sharing your views. 🩷

Welcome back cirro. I won't be missing any more reviews again. Good job ash and Jacob
Welcome back Ciro! I laughed entirely too hard at 8:48 classic Ciro right there! 😂
The channel whose reviews i always share 1st with friends as always with great humour good info and awesome videos
Reverse is really a nice feature to have 😂
Awesome review Ciro!
Welcome back Sir! I want one !!!
As for “You can have any colour as long as it’s white, and you can have any engine you like as long as its a 1.2L four cylinder petrol” 😂😂
Welcome back Ciro!! I have been wondering where you've been.
I can see these being Camper converted and convoys of them all over South Africa. Watch out for the Corrals at the camping site!
fabulous little van - honest and superbly practical ! Great value for money if you don't want the considerable costs of bakkie ownership - none of them are cheap to keep on the road ! even more so when you think of how expensive almost every other van on the market is !
I knew I recognized the road.. Old Malmesbury Road, from Kalbaaskraal to Philadelphia.. a really nice road for road tests actually, lovely views. Lovely little van, and you right, just need better weels and wider tyres.
Glad you’re back Ciro. Some people are meant for video and others are better suited at radio
Suzuki Carry (Omni )was favourite for Kidnappers in India
I did miss you ciro good to see u again
Welcome back!
This was the standard vehicle of nuns at the Roman Catholic convent in Parow (Northern Suburbs, Cape Town) in the 80s and 90s! 😊
Missed Ciro so much, here i am watching a panel van review
Welcome back Ciro
3:36 You've to be specific for the "1.2l, 4cyl gas engine" though, some markets get 1196cc G-series while others get 1197cc K-series, one on this video probably is the K12N(detuned to 82ps). Eeco also came with a family car version getting 1.3l 1298cc G13BB engine making 85bhp & 113Nm torque much like the K12M(82-86bhp, & 113/115Nm torque) engine.
YES! MY PERSON IS BACK ❤🎉
Eish, half loaf indeed! Still wondering why Suzuki doesn't put their 1.4 turbo engine in more of their cars. Like the new Grand Vitara for example...
Excelent description...
Welcome back bra yaka
Great review, thanks. I own two 1980's units, one 1987 1000cc sold locally in SA and the other is a 1988 550cc (imported from Japan) ... best little busses ever made.

Hey Ciro😀😀😀 i had missed the "hello"
Thanks for this video. Am currently in need of a small van for my handyman business and am juggling between a Fiat Fiorino or the Eeco. My pocket says Eeco as well as my "spares availability " sensor is sending up green flags.
Good car for doing deliveries for your small business ❤
So similar to the standard Isuzu KB, but probably quicker.. 😊
As my name says.. I’m very comfortable 😄😎
Hi .....i dont think wider wheels would fit because of the front struts .... maybe a 175 wide 13 inch alloy wheel would be the biggest.......this would make a great microcamper🤫.....the service plan isnt really a big issue its super cheap to maintain first 4 years is basically oil changes.
I beg your pardon it does have a cup holder at the back of the handbrake. Theres a little flap that folds open
I have useing that cars, eeco, omni
Would've made a nice campervan if the load bed was 2 meters long 🤔
Can you fit some spacers and mags to make it more stable?❤
Maruti Suzuki Omni was India's best seller since 80s all through the 90s. Now we have Maruti Suzuki Eeco in passenger and cargo varients. Simple, Fuel Efficient, Reliable and has good resale value. Defogger is not provided in India.
Should bring out a 4x4 version of this.

Unfortunately it doesn't exist, at least not in South Africa or in India. Interestingly a similar model exists in Japan with both 4WD and Automatic as optional features, and can be imported to South Africa as Japan also keeps to the Left and has the Steering Wheel on the Right.

The Taxi from Takalani Sesame...
can you pis do 20009 Lexus review 😀
Wow!! Any color???...I would love it in white😂😂😂😂
Ladies and Gentlemen - I present to you - South Africa's newest 12 seat Taxi 😬
I get that small commercial vehicles are necessary in some circumstances but I feel there's no excuse for it to be unsafe. I can't imagine that it even has a properly strengthened passenger cell. It's a bit scary.

The Eeco has seatbelts, tubeless tyres, airbags, bumper & some bulge on it's nose, what more u can ask for in a van? Ppl even ride on bikes, & nothing is completely safe afterall.
Bigger tekkies; how would it do on a bit of an off road adventure?
This thing the kwid and the espresso are as we say in Afrikaans, n doodskus op wiele. You crash you dead
