I love how in the very first level every major plot point was set up. Jo is invincible, Turv lost his crown and died, and alpha- had more lives than everyone else.

My favorite thing about this is how they start out not knowing Nabbit’s power, but once they realize it it becomes a torturous means for awhile. But once it’s accepted and they realize ‘yeah, this is just how the character is’ Turv picks up the bubble and becomes the villain

Nabbit has hp = 3 + the number of power ups he has, he also cannot be hit by most enemy’s (most traps can hit nabbit) but whenever he gets hit an item is lost and he gets lives at the end of the level, nabbit is killable in many ways, just not by most enemy’s

Jo was totally that kid on the playground who would show off his "Pikablew" to everyone and when asked how he got it, would give an elaborate explanation that included being at a curtain level, having a water stone, and being somewhere random like, I don't know, the Lake of Rage. If someone pointed out the poor spelling, he called it a translation error. If someone asked to see it for themselves, he'd have a Waterstone, a Pikachu, and another Marill in the PC named Pikablew, and he'd show that he had the Pikachu and Water Stone to the person, before using his height advantage to hold the Gameboy out of the kids sight and reach, humming and extended version of the Evolution theme and claim he's not stalling for time but that because it's a "Poke-God", it gets a more grand evolution sequence, only to swap Pikachu for Pikablew and show it as "Evolved". And the icing on this grand cake of lies, is that their both shiny, because if someone did try and show everyone their Marill to prove him wrong, he'd just pull the bs of "Well they share the same model to save storage space on the Gameboy, but as you can see Pikablew has a different color."
