New SsangYong Tivoli 2020 Review and Road Test
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The new SsangYong Tivoli SUV comes in 3 trims and offers a range of engines too.
The model we have is the Ventura and is powered by a punchy 1.2L 3 cylinder 126bhp engine, coupled to a 6 speed manual gearbox.
Dependant on the trim, depends on what extras you get, we have heated seats, steering wheel and some other features too.
The range starts at a very impressive £13,995.00.

Thanks for the review. My wife has had a fully equipped Tivoli for the last 4 years and 60'000 miles, with a sunroof and an auto gearbox. It hasn't missed a beat and she loves it. She has a particularly sensitive back - the supportive seats are perfect for her. And the heated seats and steering wheel are very welcome on those cold winter mornings. I love the electric and air-conditioned seats in the summer (the came as standard with the spec we chose). It's amusing to think they are an optional extra on a £50k BMW. The Tivoli has been criticized for its ride, but the secret is not to spec big 17- or 18-inch wheels. It rides fine on 16-inch wheels and still handles well. We chose the top-spec car so actually had to 'downtrade' to smaller wheels. The garage was happy to exchange them for free.

They’re great vehicles, and well equipped if that’s what you choose, yes smaller wheels with a decent profile tyre makes all the difference, thank you Timothy
Ah you discovered the secret load cover storage! Another great video A&B! The Ventura is a little rocket so we're glad to see you enjoyed the drive! Thank you for the high praise too *Tommy

another great review A&B. just like you, I don't see lack of sat nav built in an issue :) I see so many people with brand new S-classes / A8 and 7 Series with there mobile phone blocking the screen with their say nav anyway. Apple car play and the android varient is great!! That 3 cylinder sounds lovely, as most do :)

You stated that the car has powered folding mirrors, can't find anything on the ssangyong website saying the 1.2 Ventura has that.

Are you buying a brand new model, if so bear in mind that certain options vary due to shortages, also our car specs may vary - as this was 2 years ago.
What would you rather have. Tívoli or the MGHS?

@@PlanetautoUK petrol. But no more MGHS petrol!! Shocked
They certainly made it look much better with the revamp on the outside it's just a pity they ruined the dash on the inside. The last one had a stylish dash all they had to do was modernise it and upgrade the materials on it. Instead it looks like they have gone backwards with there dash design and it is just horrible. A pity. It's sad there is not more of them on the roads.

@@PlanetautoUK no problem 😀
I hired one of these on holiday in Ireland. It is easily the least comfortable car I've driven in 30 years. In town and on the motorway it was OK, but out of town on country roads, the harsh ride defies belief. I paid for "an Astra or equivalent". An Astra is a Rolls-Royce compared to this car. The comments below seem to focus on what gadgets are fitted at each price point. No amount of gadgets, (and my hire car had plenty) make up for the fundamentals of the car being terrible.

I’m trying to weigh up if it was a facelift or this gen, we like a firm ride, and didn’t notice anything that was uncomfortable and we drove it a fair few miles, what’s your normal car Richard?
@richardwilton722
7 ай бұрын
@@PlanetautoUK A Peugeot 3008. It’s not that it was just firm. Since everyone decided that German cars are luxurious, pretty much all cars have firm springing. ( German cars need it because they have to be stable at unrestricted motorway speeds, and German roads are well maintained) The Ssang Yong was firm AND really bouncy. It was a new car so one cannot blame faulty dampers. Of course it’s a cheap car. If I wanted to buy a similar car at that price I would go for a Dacia every time, and forego some gadgets to get better engineered suspension.
