Can you confirm run time on high mode (800LM)?I saw pictures (the manual) posted on Amazon reading this light will only last 8 minutes at the highest mode. Then drops down significantly for an additional 7 hours or so. I still believe this a great dual purpose light for the price. About $30 dollars on Amazon.

It's 45$ on Amazon. Still a great light at that cost.

I must not fail to commend Klarus for beating the rest with this dual-purpose flashlight.

couple of things I'm not so keen on - the 40W LED chip is extremely powerful, but that 4 inch reflector is just a waste of time, since the output is so focused into a tight beam anyway. A convex mirror in front of the chip to reflect the light back into the reflector would give a great even spread. The other problem is it's 40W, which according to the instructions, will last about 8 mins on full power, which is pointless for a searchlight. A searchlight is meant to be bright, but also to strike a good balance with run time. Maybe fitting 21700 cells would have been of benefit, or 26650 at the cost of a bulkier body. Either way, a 20W LED Chip, with a convex mirror and 12 to 16 Ah of power would make this searchlight something that stands out ahead of Superfire's C20 and F15 torches, which rock 20W and 30W respectively, and give a better broader beam. The runtime is also good, but I've not as yet measured this to put a figure on it. Both torches also used the 21700 and 26650 respectively too.

That spot looks a little too focused to be practical. I think they should have spread it out a little.
