You didn't even discuss Battery Issue on XM4😢. Sony should deal with this issue on 1st priority as battery issue has made my device unusable.

Buying this earbuds is just gamble, if you get bad ones, God help you with Sony idiots and replacement. ​@stasasekulic6917 He literally addressed that before, also it varies from a unit to other units If you are lucky then your unit is fine, But for the overall buds without the horrible battery I experienced, they are top tier. The fuckin battery life issue I have is frustrating, I literally had to buy Galaxy buds 2 I am pissed they are no match in terms of noise cancellation and sound quality But they last 6 to 7 hours on single charge The sony wf1000xm4 lasts 2 to 3 hours 🙄🙄🙄 I hope after I finish the update it is fixed, if not then I will try to get the bose quite comfort 3.

I got mine about a month ago, they came with 1.5 firmware and with a factory issue so I returned them but they were out of stock. I desperately wanted this instead on xm5 but every store told me that they were not going to re stock them until last week that i got 1 of the last 2 pairs on a good price from Amazon Mexico and oh boy, they came with 1.6.2 firmware, test them from 100% to 0% and they worked just fine. I took the risk of updating even with all the fuzz about (I needed multipoint for work) and im glad to say that I think i got the last fresh, no problems, no battery issues batch of these 1000XM4s, and even with the 2.0.1 update, still got more than 6 hours, and all the features, I am the happiest person right now because I hate the looks (and the overprice) on the XM5, both WH and WF, I am a big guy so fit is not a problem, this is the best purchase of my life!

Ever since i updated to 2.0.1 both headphones have gone all over. The right one drains in roughly 45 minutes and the left just tanks if i restart it.

How do you block updates? I've been having that battery issue and since it's 6 months out of warranty Sony told me to either go to a licensed repairer or trade in for a new pair. So stupid we have to pay more cause of their mistake... Won't update anything again.

Im fully updated as of today. I still love my xm4s. Got them a few months after release and that update nuked their connectivity for me. My 2nd pair has been flawless for over a year now with all the updates. I will pass these to my father when i upgrade. Really thinking bose next time though.

I get about 1:03 to around 6 minutes before the right earbud dies, and for some odd reason the left earbud refuses to play by itself. So basically after 1-5 minutes my earbuds become useless. They are out of warranty too. Im pretty annoyed.

I have some cracking sound like the out that comes out off a loose audio jack from amp.. If u have experienced such sound do let me know if it is normal or i should raise an issue to the service center. My earphones are under warranty only. Doesn't happen always but sometimes when listening to vocal based audio files from Spotify or youtube.

Hello, after I updated my Sony, at the time it was still version 1.5.xx, the battery on the phone on the right side doesn't last even 10 minutes of operation. It's completely crazy. The update simply destroys the use of it.

Hey I have a problem when I put the charging case on wireless or wired charger, when the battery get to 100% the case light doesn't turn to green it just stay orange I tried everything but nothing changed, I'm the only one who have this problem?

I had that bug intermittently. It was actually a bit annoying.

Help...my battery does not charge properly....it blinks red constantly...it charges the headphones, when placed in case.. I have tried resetting using manual...alll steps...but to no avail....can you recommend a new compatible charging case....When I use the headphones...the battery level is at zero...headphones have 6.5 hours of juice....

This update ruined my battery..after I updated to 2.0.1 my battery gets hot when put inside case.and only last like 20 to 30 mins from 3 to 4 hours of playback..😢 How I can fix it..?

Ever since the battery drain issue started with one of my buds I stopped using it, no update has fixed the battery problem. I just threw them away.

How to fix the battery drain issue 😔

So the only way to update these is to wear them ???

This is what my experience, I got my old unit replaced by Sony after the 2.0.0 caused the battery to last less than 1.5hrs. The replacement unit is on 2.0.0 and 10% battery usage in 1 hour of usage. Took a risk to update to 2.0.1 and notice the usage now is 5% in 1 hour. I'm still monitoring the battery and the main thing is if your battery already fried the only option is get it exchange.

@@MonkeyDIvan Yes and no. During the first 3 or 4 rounds of charging, that's the figure I got. However, after that few cycles of charging the battery usage has stable down to around 16% to 18% after 1 hour of usage. I think the battery level depends a lot on volume level too.

I searched for the "perfect" headphones for 2 years... then i found that headphones now can use USB-C. Quality in every aspect I so much better with USB-C, even the mic on the traditional cable.Cost absolut 15 dollars..(use for samsung akg in ear USB-C)

No. My left ear bud started draining faster even before the update and the new update didn’t fix it.. so I took it to service centre, they told that they will replace the ear buds

I never had any battery problems, now the right one wont even last an hour.

After updating to 2.0.1 i've got the infamous battery issue. Now battery drains in 40 minutes in the right earphone. The left is good. It was working good before with the 2.0.0 version. Unluckily i'm out of warranty... So Sony "created" a big problem for me. Not "solved" anything. 🤬🤬

Guys, visit Sony service center and ask them for replacement even if it's out of 1yr warranty. It's their fault, tell them it's a known issue. They replaced mine with a new unit eventually. Inform everyone that this can be done so Sony will know how crappy their company is.

My right earbud stopped working after this update. Sony won’t take any responsibility because the unit is out of warranty. The factory reset didn’t fix it. When I try to connect it. The best I get is LE_Sony-WF1000XM4. LE, low energy Bluetooth.

sad not hear anything about the battery issue ... I just stopped using my pair due to this issue and after realizing Sony won't replace my pair ... disappointing ...

They replaced mine even if it is out of warranty. Tell them it's a known issue and they will replace it. We are all entitled to get a new pair. How can a $250 earbuds stop working for just 1yr. Let them cover the cost for their crappy company

My set has started doing this, after i updated to the latest software. ..but only when i start a new podcast for example. All i need to get the dead one (happens with both the left and the right) going again is to touch the dead in-ear on the touch area. Strange, and annoying. Have tried what i understand is a hard reset.

As soon as I upgraded to its new firmware, my MX4’s have drastically improved in sound performance and overall quality by at least 70-80%. Crispier, cleaner, bolder, ampler and packs more punch. No joke. Or was I just lucky with a “magical headset” off the assembly line? Perhaps…

Updated the firmware and immediately started having battery issues. Purchased 14 months ago so out of warranty and Sony is saying tough luck. If you already own these do not update to the latest firmware. Update: Turns out I still had warranty coverage through a third party buyer protection plan (not Sony). They took care of me, replaced the battery and circuit board in the right side earbud and updated the charging case firmware. Seems to have taken care of the problem, the right side battery now lasts a little longer than the left but that probably has more to do with the age of the batteries since they didn’t touch the left side. The charging case doesn’t seem to want to charge to 100% now, more like 98% which is fine. I think Sony is just trying to prevent any more overcharging problems which might ruin the batteries again. Kudos to SquareTrade for promptly taking care of the problem.

I work for the sony engineering team. We intentionally programmed a firmware upgrade to destroy the batteries to force people to upgrade.

Still haven't fixed the right battery life issue - come on Sony its six months now.

So I happened to you twice already? Again after the replacement ones

I bought the galaxy buds 2, first of all, the wf1000xm4 is very big, it sticks out of my ears, But the main reason is the battery, it drains so fast or it doesn't charge the right bud at all I am out ready to travel for 3 hours, so I get out my buds Then for the left bud says the battery is 89% then for the right bud battery is 5% then suddenly please charge the battery and power off!! Really? Also why the left bud is 89% ?? I didn't even use the buds for 9 hours!!! The samsung buds 2 are good but terrible noise cancellation, it feels like it doesn't exist And for the sound quality it's (meh) Dunno how to describe it tbh, it doesn't feel bad but there is something about it that I don't like at all. It feels shallow, most of the songs lack spatial audio, I dunno if it's a feeling but It feels shallow, yet kinda louder at max volume But I have to say, most of the times I am at 40% sound volume listening to jazz or Frank Sinatra or anathema some chill stuff, 60s or chill metal generally. I am a metalhead but I also need some relaxation Also time passes my ears can't handle max volume, and I am pissed if It's max volume and my ear adapts then I can't increase the volume anymore Unlike when It's at 50 to 80%, I can increase it and then I will feel better, It's a psychological and physical thing at the same time, I have to trick my brain and ears to make it work that way.

I forgot to mention, noise cancellation is terrible with the buds 2 That I can't listen to any song at 10 or even 40% without hearing loud noises around me which is frustrating, I have a samsung phone yet, wf1000xm4 is better except for battery. There is a huge battery gap between my xm4 and my buds 2 Buds 2 can last for a very long time 6 to 7 in my ears with the crappy noise cancellation on. Xm4 2 to 3 hours, dead.

Battery drainage is well known condition acknowledged by Sony. So take your xm4 to SC they will give you a replacement unit
