NM cut me down to $75/mo. I'm on SSI and 64. I am furious. In order to get through the month, I will drop from 120lbs. to 90 in short order. It's not worth struggling this hard to be here. F this cruelty. "THEY" need to "eat" this way for a year or more, and see how much they want to go on "living".

@@Iluvwatchutube I got $25. per month for 9 years. I know what it's like. I even got cancer while I was on that much, still have it 7 years later. Food is an anxiety rather than life-affirming or pleasant. The stuff from the food bank makes you sicker and older faster.

No, it’s the Federal Government, The SNAP Program is through The Federal Government and, the states can’t afford to implement that! However, the State Governor Pays into the Program and, those states getting extra monthly benefits is through those state governors and, then,someone in federal will sign their John Henry to it, in Congress! That’s also how your monthly benefit is also determined by what your state Governor pays into the program against your monthly income determines the amount of your monthly amount of your SNAP Benefit! Therefore, when, newer updated cards are issued it will be through the federal government, they will get them made and fund them, I’m sure state governors will have to pay in a certain amount, but, the federal government will make sure that gradually every state in the U.S. gets them but, cards will look different because, they will match with based / design according to which state you live in, your state symbol will be indented in the card, similar to what they look like now but, will just have a chip in them!

For the amount of taxes citizens of California pay, they should increase social service benefits like NY. The issue is the CA governor talks a big game, but doesn’t actually do much to help people. California should be the 1st state to increase!

It’s not the Federal Government that issues these added benefits, it’s their state governors and, then, the federal government signs off on it! Such as when, a disaster happens in that state! So, the best suggestion is vote then, that helps give people some control, not a lot really though!

Im in California and Finally having EBT card microchip more secure. Swiping the card doesn't work very wel on certain self serve payment machine. I had to swip 2 to 4 times.. They should have had microchip first place. Also they should have ebt card buy hot foods also.

You might think that but, very untrue, they haven’t updated no current SNAP cards in just your State! When, they update the newest SNAP cards, they will go out to everyone, not just in your state in particular because, it is a federal Program through The Federal Government Human Services Agency/ The Department Of Family And Child Services! Then, the State Government Pays Into The SNAP Program/ Through your State Governor, pays in a certain amount, the amount he pays in against your monthly income to is in which your monthly benefit is how it’s calculated!

Take that issue up with your state governor or learn to vote, the federal government aren’t issuing these benefits in different states, again it’s their state Governor and, he is also the one that determines the amount your monthly benefit is your state, since, he’s the one that decides the amount to pay in which that and between your monthly income determines your amount! Which is why monthly benefits can vary by state!

Florida is a lot different, you guys don’t pay state income tax so the social service benefit is really dependent on what they receive from the federal government. In NY I pay a lot of money in state income tax, so instead of paying and not seeing anything for it, I’d rather see my state helping people with the money we pay.

Well, and, if they raised the monthly maximum amount per monthly benefit then, people could afford to eat much healthier and, you know they aren’t going to about do that because, then, the state governors would have to pay in more and, those state governors aren’t going to want to do that either! Also they don’t realize that people with chronic illnesses receive these monthly benefits and, usually they have digestive issues and, with that a lot of people can’t eat a lot of healthy food such as in fruits and veggies because, the more they eat those foods it can do a number as well on them, it can create a lot of serious more complex problems on their digestive tract! These people can talk healthy but, they also are looking at things one sided!

If you're able to work you should do so. My daughter works 2 jobs is a single parent.Her rent went up and her food stamps got cut! Good old Oklahoma! I told her she was better off.Not getting the second job because the rent went up and she got more and food stamps. Her rent went up $200. Her food stamps were cut by a 150 and the second job is only $400 a month. So for 50 extra dollars a month, I would quit that job. I told her find something that would pay you under the table

My daughter worked 2 jobs for quite a time and, never got Monthly SNAP Benefits and, when, she graduated college, she busted her butt off and, she paid off her college loan on her own with in a few years! And, though her career path is still different, she now has more of a study job that ended up full circle! The only thing is she had to continue to move farther and farther away! Seems like career paths for young people don’t happen in their hometowns,good ones, sadly enough!

billybilly then more people are going to want to work for less money and more people will be looking for less jobs, maybe your daughter will lose her jobs because people will be willing to work for less or your daughter is going to be paid, less. If more people think like you, it will lead to a worse situation for a lot of people. You don't know what you are asking for.

No, they are not, they are just trying to get people off the program and, other benefits if those people are able to work to save the federal and state government dollars for those who are able to work that have become to dependent and, placement on the program! These programs still will be in place for those who are disabled, single mothers or parents who are going through temporary issues to help get them on their feet, but, still if you are able to work you should, that’s all it’s about, nothing more!

Not very helpful when the cost of food is higher than standard deposits. It doesn't adjust for inflation, which is still a problem. That's kinda the reason Feds raised interest rates in the first place.
