    I Started in 1995 - Today I bought some sweet Aeon XXI Basics and some protection at your store. Really good advice & that trick with tight lacing + the buckle really made the skates fit like a glove! 🤯 It felt so weird doing that, 'cause back in the 90's we would keep the skate quite loose. 😅 (I'm glad that I didn't upsize from my regular shoesize like some other shops advise you to) Keep up the good work!

    Thanks! Great video, very much appreciated! I just bought my first pair of Rollerblades, ever :0) and actually went for a pair like these. The new MB X Pro. I went for a size 9, but on the right foot it was so tight, pushing my big toe back, it felt just too tight. So I went for a size up, and added an insole, very feel much more comfortable now, just hope it's a good fit for learning to skate and skating in general. I will play with the insoles. Good to be reminded that we can tweak them. I would have like to have kept with the 9, for the left it was perfect, but the right, just too tight. Big Thanks for the top tips! Great Video! :)

Got a FR1 black beauty (42) about a week ago, I skate it with the Reign V3 HT and it's nice and tight with toes touching and no foot or heel movement at all... I love these liners but I also want to try an Intuition at some point but not sure about the size there... My foot measures 26.5 cm, just where the "S" ends and the FR shell is MP27, just where the "M" starts... Do you recommend going for the smaller? I started skating in '92 with RB cool blades abt! unfortunately my skill level didn't really progress probably due to using the pad brake and not practicing power stops. with the Sebas I got a month ago I have been forced to learn downhill carving slowing down and working on my power stop. My e3 liner started off really rubbing and blistering my skin I think the rubbing has subsided a bit but it still digs. I'm hoping it will eventually break in all the way and stop hurting. I don't have the funds for a higher quality liner right now. Great video and subbed!

    Hey man, thanks for your videos! I followed the FR size guide and got 44 FR skates, when I tried them on my toes touched the front, but they don’t feel tight. Did your shell test and I’m exactly two fingers snugly fit behind my heel. Would you recommend going just a half size down to a 43. Or go to 42 to get a smaller shell? I want to go 42 but since street shoes are 45.5 I’m a bit skeptical…appreciate any help 🙏🏼

    Excited to give this a try tomorrow! My 26.5cm feet are feeling ultra tight in some 41 FR1 skates. The liners feel appropriately tight, my the outside ball of my foot feels pressure from the boot. Almost like it needs to be closer to the toe box...but a smaller skate would be far too small of a liner. Hoping this is my solution!!

    Hi Ivo, thank you for the video! I am a little confused tho because in your other video (where you explain about the shells with little Moses) you are saying that it’s better to have some room at the toes and that it is much more important to tighten the skates well so they hold your leg and the middle of the foot because that’s where control comes from...

  • @Thisissoul

    @Thisissoul

    3 жыл бұрын

    It actually doesnt matter if your toes touch, you are right about that. The most important thing is that you have control and that doesnt come from your toes. it comes from the side and top of your foot. For somebody with a wide and high foot, it is not bad if they find a skate that fits them on the side and top and not have the toe touch, but if you have a normal foot, then yes, the toes very likely touch to also have the height and width correct because all these foot dimemsions are correlated.

    Hi, I have bought the Rollerblade Twister XT and they should have the right fit regarding the sizing table. I have also followed your steps to measure the perfect skate size. I have around 1 and 1/2 fingers space when I have my foot in the shell without the liner. But if I'm wearing the skates it feels like I'm constantly touching the toebox and that the liner has no room to expand length wise. Does the liner usually get thinner around the heel part? I had a few skate session but the feeling that my toe touches the toebox is still there. My footsize is roughly 271mm and I'm wearing 42/42,5

    FR1 vs Marcoblade for beginner? Looking to get inline skates that cost twice them when practice enough Also do all inline skates only have two buckles? Slightly thinking if had three or four then no need for laces too often and less time strap in as buckles be enough Also say 280mm feet would you say 280mm on shoe size or add extra? Unsure if say get 280mm they already added toe room to it so not at end

    Heb de FR1 Deluxe gekocht in maat 43,5-44,5. De liner zit precies goed (met mijn teen tegen de voorkant aan) alleen is de shell eromheen wel heel ruim. Nu hoorde ik van de winkel waar ik deze had gekocht dat FR dezelfde shell-maat gebruikt als voor een maat groter en geen maat 9 aanbiedt. Dat is toch wel apart vind ik.

    I also used some Bauer Speed plates for upsizing as I couldn't skate the 43/44 Imperials even with an Intuition liner anymore. The 45/46 worked very well with those. Actually the double sizing of the Imperials/Nexts is almost a disaster here, because nobody is really checking the way you explained in the video. For example someone with size 41 feet in a 41/42 skate, due to the tight liner it already feels snug. Often they go to the next size: 43/44, which will never really work obviously. Many end up with boots 2 or more EU sizes too big. Otherwise it would be a good system. With more information and maybe a bit better liners, or added materials like insoles for proper size adjustment. Or say you are only allowed to buy a skate after watching this video :-)

    That would ve been a great title for this video, maybe I could’ve find it sooner, still in time tho, just going out today to check some Seba E3 Premium and was actually thinking between 44 or 45 size, as I’m 283 mm in length, but the shell sizes on the 45s are same as 47, so was quite in doubt what to do, at least now it’s clear, thanks OP for that, I’ll just go there, remove the liner and stick my fingers into it 😂 and hope only 1 and half fingers go in for the 44s.😅

    Hello! I've jusy got USD sway Sagona. I've got the 41-42. With the original liner (dual my fit), my foot wiggle, but with the reign Liner. No wiggle, it's comfortable but not very snug around my feet. There is also 2 fingers and half between the boot and my ankle without liner. I skate inside my house, it seems fine, but I'm worry if it will loosen up more with time. I've tried the 39-40 (with the dual my fit Liner) and it's very snug. Only my big toe is touching the boot. But unfortunately I didn't bent my knee to see a difference. Is my current boots are too big? With the reign liner its fine, but with the dual fit, my feet wiggle. Thank you!

    I tried on a USA 9 FRX 80... Shell and liner was too small, and too short. Did the finger thing, didnt even have one finger in the back of the shell. I now have tried a USA 10 FR3 80, with almost three fingers room in the shell, length of liner is good, but loose around my feet. I also seem to be forcing against the cuff, why isnt the cuff supposed to move with my ankle flexion? It makes it so hard to mend my ankles. I have never rollerbladed before, but it seems like Im in the wrong style boot. Also seems like the bottom laces dont tighten at all, since the eyelet stays are so tight, and the shell is so stiff, the laces just stay loose at the bottom. Someone recommended flying eagle skates, as they said they are more narrow in the foot, and I noticed they have a model with a flexible shell...maybe a better fit for me... BUT! Wont I still struggle in a tall boot that doesnt articulate with my ankle? Is there some video that explains exactly how the cuff and top liner padding is supposed to fit around the legs? Thanks!

    I started inline skating when I was about 14 I think, but never really progressed that much. Now I'm 29 and took it up again, mostly on a pump track but I already tried the local bowl a little bit. I love it but sadly wacked my shoulder and now got to take a pause :/.

    5:11 should've clarified, how are you suppose to put your fingers in? side by side or one right behind one another? Cuz I have the UFR 90 intuition size 40.5-41.5 and I have 27.1cm foot length and I can put 4 fingers side by side behind the heel with liner out. so you're telling me the skate is too big? when I find it too tight and it's already giving me discomfort?

    Hello!! How tight or smug should a skate be? I’m having trouble in choosing between Ue38 or 39. I will buy them online. In the 38, the insole measure es 24 cm. And my foot is around 23.9 cm. Is it too smug??

    A skate should feel like somebody gives a good strong handshake around your foot. There is so much to foot sizing that just looking on length its hard to know if something will fit you just buy from our webshop thisissoul.com. best thing to do is take a trip to amsterdam and come and try the skates yourself

    I have a question. Is it normal for new skates to feel a bit slow? I just tried out my new FR1 84 85A skates being used to 25 year old roces TARTARUGA skates with 72mm 82A wheels. Now in the past 20 years I have skated maybe 3 times so my condition is not what it used to be but just the difference in wheel size made me expect more in terms of speed. Will the bearings get faster once i've skated more? I started skating, probably around 1994.

    If you have a new FR1 skate, then it should go super fast out of the box. It can also be the wind that day or some other factors that were playing. Other bearings will for sure not help you with speed.

    Hey man, I bought FR FRX EU size 42/US 9. My feet are 26,9 and 27 cm and the liner's length is exactly 27 cm. Do you think it will be ok after some time? I mean I have tested them in shop for ~20 min and it was ok in terms of length. Right mid-foot was squeezed by the shell and it was a little uncomfortable but I wonder, will the liner lengthen or only become wider on the sides.

    I heard the sizing is fake and go by foot measurement, it like I wear EU46 shoes but on some skates in chart I be a EU43.5 so questioning how right it is, also often when looking up the size guide might say get same size or size down or up when looking at skate online

    I tried putting on the shell of the FR2 without the liner and I have 2 fingers and some space behind my heel. I’m guessing it’s too big. The size of the FR2 I just got are 7.5US 40EU. I usually wear size 8 shoes. I measured my feet and they’re about 252mm long. Should I go to a 7US 39EU or lower?

    length is not really what you should worry about in the end of the day. its the pressure the skate can give you on the top and side of your foot that give you the control you want. There is a big correlation between with, height en length of a foot though, so usually when the toes dont touch, you should just get a smaller size.

  • @Thisissoul

    @Thisissoul

    3 жыл бұрын

    if the toe's do not touch, they are too big. the reason why you can find other people say they should not touch, is because they know people like it better if they dont touch. it usually is not nice for people if they touch, they have to get used to the feeling. You can ask all precision footware specialist and they will all tell you that footwear should have a tight fit. rock climbing, hiking, skiing, ice skating, wake boarding etc etc. they all need to be tight.
