If you have an audio interface already, no need to upgrade. It's basically for those who don't have something that can comfortably power the SM7B

If you’re using the built-in amp, you need phantom power, other than that, idk

Noooooo. If somone has a interface that already has lots of gain just buy the normal sm7b. Or do what I did buy the sm7b and a fethead. A fethead is literally better then a cloud lifter and cheaper and gives more gain. My prices are candain so I bought a fethead for 89 bucks CAD so thats like 60 USD and a cloud lifter is 300 CAD or something. My fethead gives about 30 dB of clean gain and I use the Scarlett solo. When recording a video or streaming if have gain set halfway or just shy of that and for music it depends on what I'm recording so I usually have it at a quarter gain or half way it really depends. So no dont buy that. You can get it cheaper

You can bypass the preamp and the mic is collab by cloudlift so it literally has a cloudlifter inside the mic.

This is misleading, an dedicated audio interface is far superior than an integrated one, the new shure is just convenient not better

Just wanted to state the same. It's just marketing because all the streamer-noobies want to get a SM7B but can't / won't afford an interface. Sad move from such a otherwise well respected brand...

@@blakematheson6915 thats the thing SM7B is a great mic yet the dB version cant go trough a preamp/interface so you are stuck with it, buy the normal version the other one is a bait

The shure sm7db has a licnesed pre amp from cloud which for $100 extra is worth it so you dont have to spend that extra on a cloud lifter + extra cable n etc
