What are your thoughts here? Would you buy these over AirPods? EDIT: Many people are asking about the Sennheiser CX 400BT earbuds. The similarities are very interesting, but the main differences are the improved price, connectivity, battery life, and the water resistance rating. All of which make the newer CX True Wireless earbuds more appealing in my opinion. What are your thoughts on this?

Airpods Pro user here. I got this due to mic quality and convenience in the ecosystem. For better sound, I use the Soundpeats. The charging case is just flimsy and manages to charge only one ear properly unless I really think about it (removing the buds and checking every 30mins if it does charge). It’s nice to know that the price of this one is not that bad. Planning to ditch the Soundpeats.

I've had these Earbuds for a while now and they're pretty great. Their sound quality is good and they are quite comfortable though perhaps a bit bulky in their size. I found the mono mode extremely useful for me. Being able to use only one earphone in day to day use is super convenient.

Excellent presentation. Thanks Mike. I ordered the Sport model on Amazon tonight but saw this, canceled the Sport in plenty of time, and ordered the CX. I fit the profile of the guy who is gonna use them at home to listen to substandard or old audio on KZread or Netflix.

If these are in fact insanely similar to the Momentum 2’s in sound this deal is just ridiculously good. You would be hard pressed to find WIRED buds that sound as good at that price point

It's almost the same sound quality, the difference is the lack of ANC, ambient mode, autoplay and those extra features. It was similar to CX400... But it lacked even water resistance, so now this a better alternative.

I mean this is kinda wrong (hope I'm not coming off as that guy). A lot of budget in ear monitors that sound amazing, love the moondrop aria and dunu titan s, and I even rock the moondrop chus for 20 bucks and they sound amazing. You'd be surprised at what good tuning you can get at a decent price.

@@sochalant8056 I can understand where you’re coming from, but I believe that if the parameters that I specified are correct, you would in fact be “hard pressed.” There are some reviews comparing the Momentum’s to iems that are much more expensive than the Moondrop Aria and DUNU Titan S and are widely regarded as being of similar if not superior in sound quality. These comparisons often come to the conclusion that the Momentum’s perform to a pretty similar sound quality level overall to these iems. For instance, one review compares the Momentum’s to the Campfire Audio Comet and concludes that they are relatively similar in overall sound quality when paired with an iPhone. This means that if the CX are in fact insanely similar to the Momentum 2’s in sound, unless you can find a lot of wired buds under $130 USD (let alone the heavily discounted prices they are now selling for) that compete well with something like the Campfire Audio Comet, you would in fact be “hard pressed” to find wired buds that sound as good at this price point!

I dont think its so much sound quality is getting cheaper, we have had great sounding (wired) earbuds for ages. But everything around the buds such as batteries and the wireless components are coming down in price as the demand for wireless goes up. So the drivers and tuning can take up a larger slice of the pie when it comes to cost.

Hello, May I know how the battery of each buds are after about your 1 year of usage? Did it degrade overtime in a single use from the advertised 10 hours? I wanted to see about its durability. I had one plus buds z and now I can only listen for a couple of minutes in a single use. I would greatly appreciate your reply.

great review again mike. I own the CX 400 and the Momentum True Wireless 2, and now I'm convinced to get these new ones as well. The battery life seems great and upgraded Bluetooth looks good to me.

I have the previous gen the Sennheiser CX400BT, and I love them, but also have the Galaxy Buds that I use for most scenarios. Listening to music and yard work is what I primarily use the Sennheiser for. And they do that to a high degree. It would be interesting to see the improvements from first gen to this new 2nd gen.

@@dragos8839 I use the Sennheiser from time to time when I am doing yard work. They have a more fuller sound than the Galaxy Buds. They stay in really well, plus I notice them cutting out less often than the Galaxy buds when I'm moving around. Overall, I definitely recommend them.

Really good headphones. Tested both Airpods Pro and Sennheiser CX and the CX's sound is much more detailed. Only donwside is that Sennheiser is not so comfortable and when I lay down on my bed for example I need to fix the seal. But for the price and sound I stayed with Sennheiser.

Do they block enough noise to Be able to listen music with them in a car? And Area they good for videos?

The xx series has been around for decades . They've always cut corners in features and materials but the sound tends to be at least as good as their best . I still have my cx95s from 20yrs ago , wired obviously but even today they'll outdo anything from Apple . Wired or not .

Thanks for the quality video. I am considering these for their price and audio quality. But, I need the best call/talk quality for business (high level sales calls) in quiet and noisy conditions. It depends.Overall they sound the same, however the cx wireless have more bass. These also have way better battery life and an ip4 rating and more features on the app. They are a good upgrade. I wouldnt pick the 400bt over these unless am on a very tight budget since theres some massive discounts on the 400s on Amazon

Concerned that these go pretty far in your ear compared to other buds. Has this been your experience? Honestly I’m looking at these, the Beats Solo Pro (for 149) and the Beats Studio Buds.

How do these fit in comparison to the Galaxy Buds+? I upgraded from the Buds+ to the Buds Pro and they do not stay in my ear at all. I had to get 3rd party ear tips to stay in better but I'm constantly adjusting them. Wishing i never switched to begin with...

The fact that you are considering the Sony Wf-1000xm4 means that you can afford tbe Sennheiser momentum true wireless 2. Nothing beats the momentum tw2 for sound. That sound imaging is unmatched

I'm really curious about the signature Sennheiser sound, hence i'm willing to consider the CX eventhough i know it has a few things lacking comparing to the MTW2. I would love to find out what is signature Sennheiser sound.

I own both ... cx400bx and the cxtw... they are BOTH fantastic (but the edge goes to the TW because of the independent feature)

I just use again my CX3.00 and they sound quite better than my AirPods Pro, i really want to try this.

If top priority is sound quality, the XM3's are not your best pick. If you want Sony, go with the XM4's to get LDAC among other improvements. Otherwise, I recommend the Sennheiser Momentum TW2 earbuds

Thanks for the review. I ended up buying these and they sound ridiculous for the price. ANC is overrated especially when you're pumping tunes or watching a movie, the passive isolation does the job. I do recommend foam replacement tips for a better seal and fit.

The best reviews no doubt! But you hold the sennheiser momentum 2 high, and for a good reason! But how about the Bowers & wilkins Pi7? Many say they are the true, new king. Could you test them?

They are as good/worse sound quality. The reason they are much more expensive is because they are wireless, so instead of having a copper cable they have a case with a battery, and each earbud has a battery as well as an added Bluetooth chip. (And if you think about it, this is still relatively new technology so it will continue to get much cheaper over the next few years)

Could anyone please help decide if I should get these considering that I have a pair of Jabra Elite 75t at the moment. Those are great and I wonder if the Sennheiser would be a step up?

Are they better than bose quietcomfort earbuds?

As he stated a few times in the review, they work for lower intensity activities, but really aren't optimal for anything more than jogging

I'm a fan of what senheiser did here.. although I think they should still have anc at this price... these days there's 50 dollar buds with decent anc... at least these have excellent sound though

I got the Cx plus and the sound Is just brilliant!!. I had the Samsung galaxy buds live befor and the sennheiser sound way better and the touch control works beter too

Are those the pixel a buds?

These ears buds are probably made by the same manufacturer as the Soundpeats True Wireless earbuds. They have the exact same build quality, just the exterior of the bud is different. But the Soundpeats cost only 30 dollars. I own a pair and have been using them for over two years and still running amazing.

I have the beats earbuds right now… I’m returning them. Sound quality is eh and they don’t stay securely in my ears. Plus, weird thing, whenever you adjust them in your ears, the button gets pressed and it pauses your music. I will probably be buying these sennheisers or some other alternative instead.
