Personally, this past first day of battles was the most competitive I’ve had at the start of a season. I’m not sure if the player population is down or if there were any hidden placements, but every single match I have played has been against meta teams

i have the opposite experience. i always start the first 5 days with only 10 cp pokemon. after two 5-losses, im now hitting 50:50 win rate with three 10 cp pokemon. I even got 5 wins in a row.

Probably less and less players bothering with pvp because of meta sucking all of the fun out of it for them. I know I'm about done with pvp. I'm sick of fighting the same shit over and over.

@@mitchelljungman7560 I'm good at it and even still it's sucking the fun out for me. I win a fair number of matches using my own teams, but I just get tired of fighting the same thing. Like 10 matches in a row I'll get someone with a Clefable. My eyes are glazing over from just how repetitive it is. Meta players are so focused on winning that it's actually taking a toll on the fun, In my first experiences with the pvp I was having a lot more fun. You'd see stuff like Mr. Mime or Feraligatr. Now it's just 5 hours worth of Stunfisk fights.

Man that stunfisk animation is annoying

@@ZyoniK_Pokemon I’m running stuunfisk 1500, noctowl 1500, and shadow hitmonchan 1499. I went 15 for 15 yesterday to start the season off. I like stunfisk so much I ordered a psa 10 off eBay 😂😂😂

I've been a long time stunfisk user and am finally glad he's meta now

I've been having a lot of fun with Mantine, wing attack, bubble beam, and ice beam and Dunsparce with rollout, rock slide and drill run 😁

Did pretty well yesterday with Scrafty Lanturn and Mantine.

Ace isn't worth sucking the fun out and turning pvp into a repetitive chore. My eyes are glazing over from all of the Clefable I had to fight today while making progress with my timed research. I wish this meta crap would stop. There are over 800 Pokemon. I shouldn't be stuck fighting the same 5 over and over repeatedly.

With all the flying types, dewgong and lanturn went strong for me

I lost to a pidgeot, noctowl team. My gl gbl team is now Walrein, G. Fisk, Lanturn. Unreasonably sweaty battles this early.

Managed to make it to Veteran rank on the last day of the season! Used the disgusting double charm ftw lol just in time before the debuff!

Currently using Umbreon, Granbull, Snorlax (Lick + Superpower). Any thoughts on this team? Played July 2016. Hadn't touched the game until this mid-November. Playing PoGo and PVPoke has had a strong grip on my attention recently! Ahhh lolol Since I've only been playing a few weeks, I don't have too many mons, and I'm getting used to PVP. After the end of last season, I'm only now getting into researching the meta + watching videos. Thanks!

After seeing the buffs I expected a flyer battle Royal looking set.

I have a Noctowl rated at #3 99.9% ivs for Gl! Just topped it to 1499cp. Too bad the Hoothoot was a level 1, so had to throw in 100k dust for it lol. Ima have to try this team out. Only one I need is a good Drago, have never used him in gl. Might use Buzzwole or Medicham to replace him, that way Medicham will give core coverage with ice punch Btw the 99.9% iv spread was 0/14/8

I don’t have a Shadow Dragonite on my roster, but I have Hitmontop, Lurantis, and Trevenant prepared for the Great League Remix Cup on my nephew’s profile.

I think a counter user would be alright. Not as many fairy types this season but you definitely need a lead that beats ice and steel pretty easily. Imo this team is too weak to ice so it could benefit from a different lead

Noctowl is pretty boss for this season. I’ve been using Medicham/Pelipper/Bastiodon today. I got a 5/5 and a 4/5 so far. Nice video!

Very overpowered

Wing attack should not have been buffed, they should have focused on making more of the useless fast moves better other than taking a move that was already not bad and making it overpowered in the context of the charge moves pokemon with wing attack get. There is a reason you can't give lock on to most pokemon. The balancing of fast move pressure with energy generation with damage per energy of charge moves and how much energy your moves cost and if you have buff or debuff ramping that comes into play as well as if you can get animation locked (such as incinerate) is hard to get right but easy to get very wrong. That being said good on them for identifying that a nerf to poison fang, which had been buffed in response to charmers being too prevalent, meant charm needed a nerf too.

Put Iceslash on your team with ice punch and bulldoze, folks running these birds get clapped quick lol. Cause Noctowl, Pelleper and Dragonite is on nearly every team lol.

Don’t understand the wing attack buff at all, already a very solid fast move and there’s still plenty of fast moves with no play, feint attack, low kick etc

Guys I just found out today Charizard wins against shadow Swampert in a 2v2 shield battle if you manage your energy correctly with the wing attack buff. It’s crazy insane how much the meta can change with these few tweaks to go battle league

I would have destroyed your team easily. I open with Azumarill. So there goes your stunfish, then Sandslash in back for your noctowl. And Azumarill is again enough to kill that Dragonite

Really sad what they did to great league. Great league used to be my favorite league because the meta was so large and the games didn't get stale as quickly. The buff to wing attack without a buff to anything to counter it has gotten all the way down to like 20 pokemon. Every team has a wing attack pokemon which means every team also has a bastadon/regi/stunfisk. Its been 5 days of great league and it feels like I've done the same battle over and over.

I played all 25 matches of today but in Great League Remix and won 20 😗 i think winning matches in GL Remix is Easier than GL

you should pair noc with stun.g instead of stun unova, ice types destroy this team.

Meta players suck every bit of fun out of an already flawed PVP system. I'm sick of fighting the same things over and over again. Why can't people just be original and come up with their own teams instead of following these stupid charts? All this shit does is make the PVP scene repetitive. I'm not having fun anymore. My first PVP experience early in I could bring Mr. Mime to a fight against something completely random and actually walk away with wins despite using something as silly as meme clown. This past few seasons it's like a switch flipped and people became less focused on having fun and more focused on seeing who can bring the most spammy, cancerous team. Now there's maybe 5 different Pokemon that appear across a single GL set for me. I'm not allowed to bring random, fun picks anymore. No fun allowed. If I want rare candy and TMs I have to be a sweaty tryhard
